The ferry service departs from the Fort De Soto Bay Pier daily during spring and summer, and almost every day in fall and winter. The journey to the island takes approximately 45-60 minutes, providing wonderful opportunities to see dolphins, sea turtles, and occasionally manatees! Sea birds are frequently observed during the trip to and from Egmont Key Island on Hubbard’s Ferry, our large blue vessel.
Upon arrival on the island (3 hours), Egmont Key offers fantastic shelling, swimming, and adventure opportunities. Visitors can explore Fort Dade, a historic fort from the Spanish American War. Egmont Key is also home to a significant population of endangered native gopher tortoises!
Snorkeling is available for purchase on the day of the trip but is not always guaranteed, as it depends on water quality, weather, and the presence of predator fish.
