Highlights

10095 E Alsea Hwy - Come howl with us! White Wolf Sanctuary is only ten miles from HWY 101 on the Oregon Coast! Our tour experience begins at our two-mile dirt road off of Alsea Highway and the scenic Alsea River. Guests will be escorted, in their own vehicles, to the top of the mountain where White Wolf Sanctuary is located. Everyone will then convene on our large deck that is surrounded by forested wolf habitats, wild ravens and the ambiance of the natural world for a 45-minute interactive presentation about wolves and their place as apex predators. After the presentation, a guided tour of the sanctuary will give guests the opportunity to visit each wolf’s habitat and learn their story. The hike around the sanctuary is magical at times with the coastal mist moving through the trees with the sound of ravens and the song of the wolves. The wolves are in spacious enclosed habitats where they are allowed to move freely. With wild wolf populations increasing in the state of Oregon this is a tour you won’t want to miss. There is a small gift shop and restroom facilities. Tours last two hours and operate rain or shine.

Howling with the Wolves - What an unique experience. I was the only person on the tour and got to visit one on one with Nicole for two hours. She was incredibly personable and knowledgeable about the wolves, as well as the other local animals and birds. Three of the four residents came out to say hello. One of the gray wolves sang (howled) for us as well. If you are looking for an ecologically friendly tour to learn about apex predators, you are in the right place.

A perfect experience with great information! - We had an amazing time celebrating with our daughter that is obsessed with arctic wolves. It was really special, especially because we were the only ones on the tour that morning.

Wolves and Ravens - What a place! In the forest, on a mountain. We were blessed with snow. The wolves and ravens seemed happy about that. Nicole, the tour guide, was stellar! She was knowledgable and obviously had great relationships with the wolves. They are well cared for. While they are Unable to be reintroduced into the wild most of them spend their whole lives at the sanctuary. It was a special treat for me to be up close to them. Please visit if you can and show your support! Thank you so much

Our Visit to the White Wolf Sancturary - The stellar non-profit has given these beautiful, soulful wolves a forever home. Our tour was really great - we learned about wolves and their environmental impact, their personalities and habits. We felt so lucky to see these animals that were born in captivity and could not be released to the wild because of their contact with humans. They adopted by the Sanctuary and given forever homes. These animals were beautiful, majestic and so interesting. It was a wonderful experience.

Don't hesitate to do this experience! - This is quite honestly, a wonderful experience to do if you have the chance! Our guide Nicola, was amazing. She was so good at teaching us about the wolves at the sanctuary, and in the world. It was obvious how much she cared for the wolves, and they also cared for her. We loved our experience here.

Something different and unique. - We really enjoyed our tour. I feel horrible that I've forgotten our guides name. She gave a great presentation and answered all our questions. Our favorite wolf was Archidamus. Something different to do in the Oregon Coast area.

Good needs an update. - The sanctuary could use some TLC. The deck used for the educational presentation needs to be replaced with parts of it failing and not safe. The educational experience is worth the trip but be prepared to travel on a logging road with potholes and muddying in the wet season. I understand their budgets are limited and they're focused on the well being of the 5 wolves they're currently housing but the facility could use a good upgrade.
