Sunset cruise Poovar - What an amazing experience. Office so helpful in arranging booking and even changing the day for me. The backwaters are so full of nature. I came close and personal to Kingfishers and woodpeckers. What a knowledgable boatman and so helpful. He even found the sunglasses I had left on the boat. A definite 5 star experience in a Shikara.

Tranquil Backwater Experience in Puvar. A Perfect Half-Day Escape - I took backwater boat ride in Puvar, Kerala, and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic experience. The drive from my hotel took about an hour and was smooth, with roads that were not too crowded—only the last stretch was unpaved but nothing too rough. The boat itself was very comfortable, and the covered top ensured that I stayed cool and protected from the sun. Cruising through the backwaters was a relaxing experience, with lush palm trees, vibrant vegetation, and an wide variety of birds. The boat captain was very attentive, frequently pointing out interesting sights and even stopping the boat, turning off the engine for a few minutes so we could hear the natural sounds of the surroundings. We took a 15-minute stop at a golden sand beach overlooking the sea. While we didn’t take part in any of the activities like camel rides or other attractions there, just enjoying the view and the breeze was a lovely break. Both the car driver and the boat captain were very courteous, adding to the overall positive experience. On the way back, we had a great meal at a roadside restaurant. If you’re in the area, this is a fantastic way to experience Kerala’s serene backwaters in a comfortable and unhurried manner.

Great experience - Poovar is a wonderful place to spot birds, and also get a more local daytrip experience. Went as a group of 3 business travelers speaking only English, and Gaviya made the arrangements easy, even on the same day, and coordinating with both our hotel in Thiruvananthapuram and the area boat companies. Recommend!

A must visit place in Trivandrum - I visited Poovar with my family in December, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The highlight of the trip was the serene journey through the mangroves, which felt like entering a magical, untouched paradise. The lush greenery, calm waters, and chirping of birds created an incredibly peaceful ambiance. The boat ride itself was smooth and enjoyable, offering stunning views of the backwaters and connecting us to the golden sands where the river meets the sea. The guides were knowledgeable and ensured our safety while sharing interesting facts about the area. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and tranquility. I highly recommend this experience for families and nature enthusiasts alike!
