• Oia - The next destination is Oia, where you can admire its distinctive architecture, captains’ houses, Blue Domes, cave houses, and the sunset. This is where you’ll have your second hour of coverage with your personal photographer.
• Monastery of Profitis Ilias - Profitis Ilias (30 minutes) is the island’s highest point at 567 meters, situated between Pyrgos and Kamari. Named after the Monastery at its peak, this spot offers a breathtaking view of the entire island, from the patchwork agricultural plains to the hilltop village of Oia.
• Pyrgos - Pyrgos Casteli (45 minutes) was the island’s capital until the early 1800s, built atop a hill. The village features traditional houses surrounding the Venetian Castle, with narrow streets following the hill’s contours. As you ascend from the square to the castle, the stone houses become more densely packed, and the labyrinth of narrow vaulted lanes becomes more intricate. Pyrgos boasts many churches, around 33, with the most famous being the Monastery of Profitis Ilias, showcasing a small collection of ethnographic material and old icons. Pyrgos is a must-visit, offering ample time to enjoy the island’s most spectacular panoramic views.
• Megalochori - Traditional Village - Megalochori traditional village (45 minutes) features typical Cycladic houses and neoclassical buildings. Located between Pyrgos, Emporio, and Akrotiri, it is less than 10 km from Fira. The village consists of hundreds of small white-painted houses built closely together and is known for its beautiful churches. It combines traditional architecture with vaulted houses and calderimia (stone-cobbled narrow pathways) and has a vibrant community with a sizable permanent population.
