Our seasoned tour guide will rendezvous with you early in the day at your hotel lobby in Tirana. The journey will be filled with the sight of towering mountains and lush scenery of the vicinity. We first halt at Thora pass (1700m), offering sweeping views of the Albanian Alps. The exploration begins with a visit to the local church and Lock tower to delve into the enigma of Northern Albania’s history, particularly the Laws of Lek Dukagjini.
A 1-hour trek from the hamlet, through thick woodland and along the refreshing Theth river, reveals the breathtaking Grunasi waterfall. Cascading from the lofty hills, water forms a 30-meter high spectacle. Those seeking an adventurous plunge can take a refreshing dip in the flowing water.
Post this rejuvenating rest, we trace our steps back to the village for a hearty local feast. Theth is renowned for its fresh livestock produce, allowing you to sample local organic cuisine.
As the day concludes, we travel back to your Tirana hotel.

Picturesque Theth village! - What a beautiful place! Although the road there is not fantastic all the way, once you get there, it’s just incredible! And the Grundas waterfall was really stunning! Right in the middle of the nature, surrounded by the snow capped mountains and the small village in the valley - ever so quaint! Also, there are a few Insta-opps on the way, which makes it all more exciting! Our guide, Taulant, knew the location well, had a good knowledge of the small village and was a good driver despite the below par road condition! I would highly recommend this tour, especially with children! My 9 and 12 year old didn’t want to leave the village! Ps the food at the village restaurant was nothing special though - don’t expect much!

Day trip from Tirana to Theth with beautiful views - A great day trip to Theth from Tirana. Good plan if you want to see the Albanian Alps but have limited time. A lot of the day is spent in the car but it’s worth it for the views. Our guide Visi was super flexible and let us decide where to stop for food, breaks, etc. Highly recommend!

Stunning scenery and serene mountain walks. - Theth is absolutely stunning, and it helped that the weather was near perfect. The hike up to the waterfall did require a bit of scrambling up some rocks, but it was well worth it for the view. Taulant was friendly, helpful and filled us in on the history and background of Theth and Albania more widely.

Nature in Northern Albania - Truly a wonderful experience. Northern Albania is very beautiful, and that’s coming from someone from Colorado :)
Our guide, Gezim, was fantastic, knowledgeable and fun to be around - would hang out with him as a friend outside of the tour.
The views are worth it! Beautiful country.

ALBANIA - THETH VILLAGE & WATERFALL HIKE - My family of four took a one way four hour ride to the village of Theth outside of Tirana, Albania. The Toyota Rav 4 was tight for the four of us. It would have been more comfortable in a bigger vehicle especially for this kind of long and winding ride (narrow roads and many curves).
Guide Elvis was excellent and patient with us on the one hour hike to the waterfall. It was a tough hike for the seniors, very rocky and steep. Elvis was able to provide guidance on the easier paths. During the hike, there was a bridge with missing boards for walking (big drop). This was dangerous and we should not have gone through this bridge.
He explained much of the everyday life in Albania and told some personal stories. Elvis is a very good driver for the traffic, etc.
Nice weather, beautiful waterfall and long tiring four hour ride back to Tirana.
Would recommend this tour if have time for the long ride (8+ hours round trip driving) and in good shape for the steep rocky hike.

Beautiful scenery - Theth Is amazing but a long and defiant road and lots of Traffic on August. Took for ever to get there.
The waterfall Is very beautiful but freezing. A bit of a walk, not for everyone I think.

A long drive that's totally worth it - First off, Elvis and Gezim were very accommodating of our last minute request to push our booking by a day due to illness.
The tour itself is fantastic. Theth is a lovely village and the waterfall is stunning. The walk up to the waterfall offers you some breathtaking views of the Albanian mountains.
It's a long drive to and from Tirana but once you get there, you forget about that altogether. Would recommend to anyone as there's plenty to do in the village even if you don't want to climb to the waterfall.
