Great day trip. - Last-minute changes to the train schedule from Thessaloniki were communicated in advance and clearly by the team. They gave us a few different alternatives to get to Meteora, we chose a private transfer. It was well worth it. The tour itself was informative, and our guide was extremely knowledgable and passionate about the place. She brought the history and stories of the monasteries alive. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Highly recommended - Our guide Katerina was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. She gave us insights and information, including her personal connections to the monasteries. Our driver Dinos was skillful in navigating the tight roads, enthusiastic in showing us the sights, and a great photographer. Highly recommended tour!

Exceptional tour to Meteora Monasteries - Exceptional excursion! Our guide Caterina was so knowledgeable, passionate & helpful. Meteroa & it’s surrounding town is so beautiful and you can stay there to fully enjoy the beauty of the monasteries. The train from Thessaloniki & it’s transfer went smoothly.

A great way to explore Meteora! - We are archaeologists, so we have, perhaps, unreasonably high expectations when it comes to tours. However, this tour did not disappoint. Katalina was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and good at attending to the group's needs. She's also a local and her love of the region was obvious. The monasteries and scenary themselves are breath taking. Plus, the train tour was small (12 people) so we got to see a lot and ask a lot of questions. Totally worth the time and money to travel to Meteora from Thessaloniki.

Solids Tour - This was a solid tour. The tour guide was very engaging and interactive and provided a lot of good information about the area and the monasteries. There were no trains to Thessaloniki to Meteora so they offered to give us a full refund or private transportation there and back for only 200 euros. I really appreciated that they gave us an option instead of cancelling and giving us a refund. I only gave 4/5 stars because the tour description says “local guide” and it wasn’t clarified that the guides don’t go into the monasteries with you or tell you what to look at or what things inside mean, and that was why I booked this specific tour. The guide would talk and provide information while we were in the van and then we were dropped off at a monastery to wander around on our own. Overall it was a good tour and I recommend it, I just wasn’t blown away and think some things can be improved and the tour description could be more descriptive and accurate.

Meteora is a wonderful place to visit, but not with the tour group I was assigned! - This is a fantastic place to visit, but I was disappointed on my arrival on the train at Kalabaka to find that I was assigned to travel on a very full and cramped coach of 30 plus people. My tour was described as having the comfort of a VIP limousine minibus in a group of no more that 15 people. The guide was not particularly welcoming and tended to be too casual and opinionated in her remarks.

Train to nowhere - I never was able to make it to the tour. They had me be at the Thessaloniki train station at 8:18 for a 8:56 train and I assumed there would be someone to meet me there???? No One. Got on the first train at 8:56 which was supposed to arrive at the second train station at 10:35. Paniced at 10:49 when it finally arrived at a train station I got off, only to find out that this was a stop too soon and the train was running late. Never made it to the second train . The train station was kind enough to turns my three train tickets in for a ride back to Thessaloniki. A waste of about 6 hours and 150.00E which it cost me with the taxi trips to and from the train station. Not a good trip to take with any language barrier!!
