dash Marcus Aurelius

Philosophy is a way of life; ancient Greeks and Romans knew that very well. So they gathered in a stoa, a portico, discussing ideas about life and death, human existence, and the soul. Their theories are so timelessly relevant that we can put their teachings into practice in the here and now.
This is what we are going to do; we will gather as the ancients did inside a private museum (an oasis of ancient music in the heart of a bustling city) and meditate on ancient texts while listening to the soothing sound of the ancient lyre.
We will have the Stoic philosophers as our guides

dashthe great Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, and Seneca

while exploring the four ancient pillars of a well-lived life: wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice.
So, close your eyes, relax your body and let the lyre of Apollo soothe your mind. Let’s discover what the ancients have to say about what lies beyond our thoughts; what it takes to be always present in the here and now.

Additional Information

By utilizing the age-old lyre in our meditative practice, we embark on the journey of understanding our psyche through meticulously chosen stoic-based questions and the venerable method of visualization - the capacity to ‘paint a vivid mental image.’ This can be likened to peeking through a specific optic, that is, our subconscious, creativity, and deepest yearnings.

‘Your mind is under your control, not external happenings. Understand this, and you shall discover resilience.’ Such were the words penned down in ‘Meditations’ by Marcus Aurelius, the Emperor-Philosopher of Plato. The philosophy these words carry is currently validated by contemporary science, asserting that our thoughts have the power to boost motivation and self-assurance, enhance our physical prowess and well-being, and strengthen our brain for lucidity and a sense of joy. Let’s set out on the expedition of introspection employing the most significant instrument of the bygone times, music, and an apparatus that outdates the Stoics, the Greek lyre.
