- Gangaikonda Cholapuram - The journey continues to Gangaikonda Cholapuram, located approximately 45 miles from Thanjavur. This town served as the capital of the Chola dynasty for over 250 years. The temple here, also dedicated to Lord Shiva, is renowned for its exquisite bronze sculptures.

- Airavatesvara Temple - Post-lunch, travel to the town of Darasuram, about an hour’s drive from Gangaikonda Cholapuram. This town is home to the beautifully preserved Airavatesvara Temple.
