- Texas Discovery Gardens - Texas Discovery Gardens offers a wonderful opportunity for both adults and children to explore, experience, entertain, and educate themselves. This 7+ acre attraction features a two-story exotic butterfly house, an insectarium, a snake and reptile hotel, and garden trains that travel through Texas towns and pass a model of the Alamo. Visitors can enjoy Texas native and adapted gardens, outdoor native butterflies and hummingbirds, ponds and waterfalls, as well as a playscape with sandboxes, a rock climbing wall, a rope aerial bridge, and a slide. The picturesque Grand Allee and giant fountain provide perfect photo opportunities. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches available. Free parking is provided. The gardens are open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, except on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
