Connor was amazing! - Four of us arrived for the 1:30 pm whale watching trip on Wednesday, September 27, at 1:26. In our enthusiasm to book we had missed the statement that we needed to arrive at 1:00. We pleaded with the captain of the 1:30 group. However, she correctly refused as the 8 already on the zodiac would have been forced to wait for us. We returned to the office where the wonderful supervisor called a captain who had just gone off-shift and asked if he would return for our little group. Connor agreed! Connor arrived so we could depart at 2:30. He asked what wildlife we most wanted to see. Orcas. Other boats were currently with three orcas. We joined the queue. I don't know how long we stayed to watch this little family of orcas. I will say, we saw the sudden death of a seal and multiple spy hops. Connor was very professional. He asked if we would mind waiting until their sister vessel arrived before we left, "No problem. " Then we headed across the straight to where the humpbacks were. We saw lunge feeding, tail slaps, and trumpeting. At one point, there were in excess of 10 spouts in sight. We returned to Telegraph Cove by a roundabout and picturesque route as the forecasted rain began to fall. Connor was wonderfully knowledgeable about the marine wildlife and the general region. My partner has been on 5 to 10 whale watching trips this season. All of us agreed this was the best. We've been with Prince of Wales before. We were very grateful to them for accommodating us.

Good Tour - Saw a fair number of hump back whales. Some orcas would have been nice, but no tour operator has control over which, or how many, whales show up. The tour was professional, safe and informative.

Amazing afternoon…. - We were very lucky to get the last 2 places on the zodiac trip. This was our third trip out whale watching and the first with Prince of Whales and they did not disappoint. With every trip it is purely luck if you get to see anything but we struck gold, and with Scotty as our guide we watched a pod of orcha’s and then entered humpback highway where there were 4 humpbacks all in different directions. His knowledge was amazing & he is a credit to your company.

The best guide ever! - We had the pleasure of taking this whale watching tour with Connor as our guide. He was so knowledgeable about where to look for the whales and information about the different types of whales and feeding tactics which we had never heard of. We saw many whales and actually got to see a humpback whale breach and slap his tail. Connor was able to recognize and name each whale we saw with the exception of one and he called to find out that one's name also for future reference. We also saw stellar sea lions and porpoises. I would like to note that the people staffing the desk inside were so helpful in holding some of our belongings while on the tour. We highly recommend this service and guide - way to go Connor!

Great family experience, made even better with James the marine tour guide - We've been out for a 3 hours whale watching tour on a Zodiac with James, the marine tour guide. The tour was excellent! James was very informative, welcoming, and really know his ways around the places. James gave us a lot of information regarding the wildlife around, the island, the culture and all in all made a very enjoyable and worth while trip. During our trip we saw Porpoise Dolphins. several encounters with Humpbacks, a group of vocal Steller Sea lions, a harbor seal, Bold Eagles (including one youngling still hanging in an eagle nest) We were a family of four (youngest is 12 yo) all really enjoyed the scenery, the encounters and the informative information provided by James. Highly recommended.

Cancelled tour without notice! - We arrived early for our 2pm zodiac tour only to be told the pilot was sick and it was cancelled! My daughter had researched this particular area for Orcas and our Canadian trip was centred around it. We even visited the day before to check in with staff so we knew where to come. We ended up disrupting several days of our trip and rearranging ferry crossings to do the trip 24 hours later. The manager wouldn’t even come out of the office to talk to us and left a very inexperienced young girl at reception to deal with our upset and dismay. This is totally unacceptable to be in the building but on a “meeting” that speaks volumes! Personally I believe our trip was cancelled due to lack of numbers or customer cancellations so they cancelled us. I have emailed the manager with my thoughts and received no reply - again speaks volumes! We were advised we were rang the night before and morning of the trip but I received no missed calls and yet when staff tested the number in front of me my phone miraculously rang! The sign of good firm is what they do when things go wrong not when things are running on rails - in this case they did absolutely nothing! You crushed my daughter when you told us it was cancelled. I get things happen but your team should have better systems in place - like a back up pilot for such instances. I imagine you will be answering this review as it may affect your public profile - shame you couldn’t be bothered to answer my private email. Only saving grace was Scotty when we did get to go out the following day. Happy to take money months in advance and drop people without a minutes notice. But it’s okay you gave us a 10% refund! Complete insult when you disrupted our whole trip.
