Worth the money - Well worth the money! It was early in the year and most places weren’t running yet. We got so lucky to find a company running so early. We saw humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions and about 50 sea otters! Even the crew was excited with what we saw. The young adults running the cruise were informative, professional and a lot of fun. Extra points for them taking all the photos for free so I can just take it all in.

Best Whale Watching Tour in the area! - We went on the 1:30 3 hour trip with Abby, Steve, Luke and another young woman whose name I forget. The trip was phenomenal. They located a pod of orca before we even left the dock so they were able to take us right to them. On our excursion we saw the orca pod of about 5-6 orca, including a calf. We saw a humpback, porpoises, sea otters and sea lions. The staff was all knowledgeable and happy to share their knowledge about the different animals we encountered. We've been on a few what watching tours in the area and this was by far the best one we've been on.

Excellent Whale Watching Trip - Our Guide/Captain was Valarie who was very good, together with the rest of her crew. Before the trip I was not sure our timing was right to sea humpbacks. However, we had an excellent trip and although at the beginning of the humpback season we saw two (Guardian and another). We spent some time observing them within the Johnston Strait. Also saw Pacific White sided dolphins, Stellar Sea Lions, Bald Eagles and Little Auks. Telegraph Cove is a special place and we would recommend visiting. It was mid May when we visited and it was not crowded. The large covered rib boat has 74 capacity, but we were fortunate to have only 26 passengers on board allowing plenty of room to move about. There was light drizzle on the trip and the temp was about 12C on land. We valued the advice to bring warm and rainproof jackets. The temperature on the water is a lot less than on land, particularly if raining and even with a slight wind. Many of the passengers stayed inside the covered area, though the bet viewing was on the top deck. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return another time. Thank you Thank you for sharing

An unforgettable tour with James & Abbey - We booked the tour long in advance and deliberately chose the provider because of the good reviews. My son had already had a very good experience on another tour. After a short safety briefing and equipment, we were off. We made various stops through the picturesque nature. The detailed explanations of different animal species, their development and behavior were particularly interesting. Thanks to the crew's efforts, we saw many sea otters, humpback whales, a black bear right on the shore and bald eagles on the way back. A tour with the Zodiac was a great experience. At the end, we took a group photo as a souvenir. Thanks to James & Abbey and the entire crew.

An unforgettable experience - Had a memorable afternoon following a pod of orcas through the San Juan islands. We had a great view of calves splashing around as an adult male orca hunted nearby, all against the stunning backdrop of Mount Baker. The boat used by the Prince of Whales is powered by jets rather than propellers, which makes it safer for the whales and reduces noise pollution under the water. Our guides, Rajan, Michael, and Sophia, were friendly and very knowledgeable, as were Captain Richard and Sandy. The boat is comfortable and supplies complimentary hot drinks. An unforgettable day! Highly recommended.

Great experience in an extraordinary place! - A dream came true! We've had a really stunning half-day trip with many sights, an enthusiastic female crew (Rebecca, Vanessa), sharing it's knowledege, especially about the different orca pods and their socializing. The great captain (Roman) was very skillfully, kept prescribed distances at all, switched off the engine upon sighting to reduce disruptions.I can absolutely recommend this company. A bitter aftertaste remained: There was a private boat at this day (at Sept3rd-9 o' clock tour), with 2 persons, following us the whole way, showing an unresponsible behaviour by arriving later, several times they cut the orcas way off, like encircling the group of orcas, so they changed their swimming direction immediately. If whale watching becomes a hunt, I would recommend to reduce tours and increase distances. As it's known, that the Southern Residents are a really endangered species and their propagation depends on undisturbed ingestion in this nutritious chinook area. Please keep that in mind! Petra
