Great day out - We had a great time- my toddler was a little bit nervous in the dark glow worm grotto. The waterfalls inside the cave are interesting. Very different feel compared to Waitomo.

Great trip - We did the 4.30 pm tour and it was lovely to cruise across the lake during sunset.
The cave tour was amazing, our kids loved it and really enjoyed the presentation afterwards.
An awesome feat of engineering to get the boats in the cave.

A unique experience. Nothing I have seen around the world is like it. - We loved it. Great boat ride across the lake with super views. Then we arrived at the Glowworm caves. We were broken up into groups of 10 and taken up through caves and then into a boat. We had to be very quiet and all the lights were turned out.
It was a very surreal experience as the glowworms were literally inches from your face. It looked like looking at stars in the night sky.

Fantastic experience with great staff - Boat ride was great, many photo opportunities especially from the roof of it, Caves were fantastic very interesting, staff absolutely lovely and informative.

One of the most unique experiences you will have. - A very unique experience. Drinking from an underground waterfall was a once in a lifetime experience and the guides were outstanding.

memorable cave experience - Checked in at Te Anau RealNZ office for the 4:30 pm tour.
The ferry ride, about 25 minutes to the cave.
Divided into smaller groups for a guided tour into the cave.
relatively safe and easy to navigate.
Tour guide will remind the visitors to remain silent during a portion of the tour, to ensure the tranquility of the experience and seemingly not to disturb the ecosystem of the cave.
Inside the cave, there was another boat ride, in total darkness to view the glow worms in their full glory.
Wonderful experience indeed.
The tour ended around 6:45 pm.

Glow Worms: Very Much Worth It - Staff are amazing, giving a balanced amount of information and quiet time from the 25 minute smooth boat across the lake, to taking small groups of about 10 into the cave onto a smaller boat. Not sure why there’s no photos in the cave, I understand no flash and once you’re in the pitch black, but not on entry. However, an amazing walk through the water gushing caves and then into the pitch black to see these fascinating creatures. Presentation at the end was great too.

Enjoyed the walk more than the glow worms! - Enjoyable boat ride and the guide at the caves was funny and engaging. The walk to the glow worms through the caves is really lovely, lots of flowing waterfalls and impressive underground river. Glow worms themselves were sparce but still all in all a worthwhile experience.

Disappointing Display - Cannot fault the operations. Staff are helpful and friendly and the boat and facilities are modern and comfortable.
BUT the glow worm display is disappointing. There are small pockets of glow worms through your journey while journeying through the cave , but underwhelming.

Don’t waste your money - Very poor experience- very short tour with very little to see - don’t waste your money.
Not worth driving hours to get there.
