Amazing views and the best bbq lunch I have ever eaten! - What an amazing experience! The boat ride over has spectacular view some you would never get by land and the food on the homestead was amazing. Some of the best bbq food I have eaten. Along with an amazing choice of deserts! Best sticky date pudding I’ve ever eaten. The farm show was lovely and free time to explore also! Would do this everytime I come back to Queenstown

Good value for money - The cruise was something I'd looked forward to for years. It was excellent: interesting and exciting. The ability to see into the TSS Earnslaw's engine room was wonderful. The views along the lake were spectacular and - no credit to the organisers! - the weather was perfect: a cool clear sunny day with no wind. The lunch at Walter Peak was splendid. The food was attractively presented and exceptionally tasty. I am always suspicious of desserts, which I find generally disappointing, but Walter Peak's dessert offerings were superb. The staff were attentive and informative but not intrusive, which was a pleasant change from the norm. The farm show was very good. The presenter (Quinton, I think) was informative, humorous and plainly knowledgeable. He demonstrated the skills of his dog admirably.

Enjoyable tour - A very enjoyable lake cruise with a beautiful, romantic setting for a meal. Good service with good wine, would recommend this for a lovely way to spend an evening. We booked the 5pm tour to avail of day light hours too for some nice photos.

Walter peak gourmet lunch - Great day out in Queenstown, cruise across to Walter Peak on steam powered ship. Stokers at work in boiler room is in open Ariel view and worth going across the internal plates for a look, plus it’s warm.. gourmet lunch was great, too much variety to rate it all, however pork from carvery was excellent. Don’t miss the sheep dog show, went up for curiosity but enjoyed the event.

Lovely experience - It may feel cheesy and very touristy, but honestly this was a highlight. The old steamship has remarkable nostalgic atmosphere, and you get the see the inner workings, including the coal being added to the engines. The views are stunning. We went on a rainy day and the farm pops out of the mist like a dream. The food was excellent, the atmosphere fantastic, warm and welcoming, and the farm show was charming. It's a lovely way to spend a few quiet hours after adventuring or traveling in.

Absolutely amazing experience at Walter Peak Farm! - This was one of the highlights of our trip to Queenstown! The journey over to Walter Peak was beautiful on the steam engine. Drinks, music and plenty of seating aboard. When we arrived we were greeted by staff from Walter Peak waving to us from shore. The seating was organized, staff friendly and the buffet was impressive. Food was amazing and setting even better. The farm show was really great after dinner. We had an absolutely amazing time at Walter Peak!!

A great way to spend an evening! - I had just arrived in Queenstown and was looking for a nice dinner. I got that, plus a wonderful cruise at sunset and an entertaining demonstration on life at a sheep's farm in Australia. I was pleasantly surprised about the whole experience!

Walter Peak Cruise, Dinner and Sheep Demonstration - Great fun! - Gorgeous scenery on the historic steamship cruise to Walter Peak Farm. Dinner was delicious with several multi-cultural options. The sheep shearing talk and demonstration was delightful and fun, with the dog and his master truly impressing, entertaining and educating the crowd. The return trip was highlighted by a lively piano player and singalong.

Variety! - A lovely evening combining a boat cruise on the lake, a fantastic buffet or New Zealand cuisine, and a terrific show on sheep shearing and the work of the dogs keeping the sheep. The food was wonderful but you need to be patient with the large number of people. The fellow that did the sheep and dog show was very good and what the dog could do was amazing!! A very nice time.

Not great anymore - Having been to the Gourmet BBQ over the past several years, we found this time it had lost it's charm. There was a big difference in the variety of dishes (choices), not enough roasted vegetables, soups etc and food ran out very quickly. That will be the last time we go which is such a shame as we really enjoyed it prevously plus we won't be recommending to others as we have before.
