Spectacular, the best team! - From the very start this experience was top notch! Chris called us to check if we wanted to reschedule our time based on rain that was moving in. He was so thoughtful and offered to take us whatever we decided. We arrived and Lindy was there to greet us and get us geared up. We had an incredible time with Zane, he was so fun, knowledgeable and simply the perfect guide. It was pouring rain but we had the time of our lives and even rescued 2 dogs from a steep bank when they escaped their owner on a walk, epic!! Do this trip, you won’t want to miss it!

Best part of my trip!! - Had the best time! Alex, was super informative, she let us take our photos, was great to talk to, we went on side quests which is great (BRING GROG lol) and the views were stunning. Genuinely probably the best thing on my contiki tour so far and we have done a lot ahah. Also, LOTR filming spots, commonnnn, get on it!!! Bonus points for Alex, she grew up in the town over from mine in western australia which no one else has heard of so that was so cool (small world) 100% DO THIS!!

Simply brilliant from start to finish. - Although a chilly winter day, the welcome from the Fiordland Jet team, Abby in the office and Zane the skipper, set the tone for a brilliant couple of hours in their company. The experience is way more than a simple jet boat ride and is a mixture of thrills (and spins), fun, exploration and adventure. The landing at Cosy Nook, after we'd crossed Lake Manapuri, was a real highlight, and a reminder of just how beautiful is the Fiordland National Park. The combination of Zane's informative commentary, and the incredible landscape, make this an outstanding way to see this wonderful part of NZ. We'd do this again in a heartbeat.

Unforgettable Family Adventure—A Must-Do in Te Anau! - Our Fiordland Jet experience was an absolute highlight of our trip to New Zealand’s South Island. From start to finish, it was thrilling, informative, and family-friendly in the best way. Our boat captain, Alex, truly made the day unforgettable. Her deep knowledge of the local flora and fauna, combined with an obvious passion for the region, brought the landscape to life in a way we didn’t expect. Her enthusiasm was contagious—my boys (ages 8 and 6) were completely hooked, and so were we! The jet boat ride itself was a total blast—fast, fun, and perfectly safe, even for younger kids. The provided outerwear kept us all toasty warm despite the brisk air on the water, and the views were breathtaking. Gliding through filming locations from The Lord of the Rings was surreal, and the quick stop ashore to walk and taste local edible plants was a surprise highlight—hands-on and memorable. A quick tip: the handrails are heated, but I'd still bring gloves if your hands tend to get cold. In any case, they’ve got you covered. Also, make sure your camera or phone is secured—there are a lot of photo-worthy moments! We left with huge smiles and a deeper appreciation for Fiordland’s wild beauty. My entire family wholeheartedly recommends Fiordland Jet—especially with Alex at the helm—as a must-do activity while in Te Anau.

Perfect Blend of Speed, Scenery and Commentary - We had the best time. Chris was a great guide. There was an opportunity to walk in the forest and the scenery was wonderful throughout the ride. The staff provides you with all you need- hats, waterproof jackets, etc. Our group enjoyed 360 degree turns and speed and Chris gave us all we asked for! If I had to choose between jetboating in Te Anau or Queenstown, I'd definitely choose this tour.

Stunning scenery and great river/lake tour in Te Anau - My husband and I did the jet boat tour up the river to Lake Manapouri and did the bush walk. This was our third trip - we did our first in 2018 and another on a later trip to NZ. As a Lord of the Rings fan, I love the connection to the movie since our driver Chris explained which scenes were filmed on the river. The spins are fun and start off slow so everyone can get used to it and decide if they want more. Chris was clear that if anyone didn’t want to do spins, that was fine, and those people could get off at the end and Chris would take those who did like spins back out for spins! He was also very good about explaining how to brace yourself and that definitely helped make the spins more fun. The scenery can’t be beat. Lake Manapouri is so spectacular and unspoiled. Great activity for family, friends or whoever. We went with a group of German tourists and that added to the enjoyment as they experienced the trip for the first time. The FJet staff were friendly and helpful with jackets, coats, warm hats and lots of joking around - especially Chris. Our bus driver Abby was a wealth of information on Lake Manapouri and Lake Te Anau. Also a shout out to Lucy, Amy, Lex, and John. Definitely a must do when you are in Te Anau - and unlike the Glow Worm tour - FJet tours are much smaller and more intimate, in addition to being exhilarating. I also saw a lot of happy bike rental customers and the trail along Lake Te Anau is lovely and easy to ride. One more note - the staff are great sources of information on where to eat in Te Anau or whatever other questions you might have about the area. Highly recommend.
