Great Tour of Kahketi Region - This is a great tour to take if you're looking for a private wine-focused tour of Kakheti. Our guide showed us some great lookout spots and took us to one of his favorite local restaurants, which was built into a fortress. The highlight was him taking us to a family's private home and getting to taste their wine and brandy straight from the kvevri (earthenware used to hold wine) and barrel.

Great combination of historical sites and Georgian wine - We were hesitant about booking a full day tour and spending so much time in a car, but the idea of combining historical sites and wine tasting appealed to us. I turned out to be great. Our guide, Thea, was knowledgeable, informative, flexible, and super nice.

use local companies instead - While we were happy with the driver and guide we WERE NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THE CAR USED !!!!!!!!!!! We chose to knowingly overpay for this day trip ( considering the local price is much cheaper ..and a result went back with a local driver the next day and my husband organised the itinery !!!! and we enjoyed the day immensely) We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and my husband has wanted to do the wineries of Georgia for many years ... i hate the heat and cannot cope with it so as we knew the weather would be hot we paid for this trip as we wanted a air conditioned car .The car provided was terrible for the mountainous roads, the air conditioner was terrible and as result the windows had to wound down all day It was a very uncomfortable. We didnt enjoy the day at all in the car please ensure further people dont have to suffer like we did and sort out your companies you deal with Pheasant tears was wonderful where we had wonderful service and a lovely lunch the tunnel kareba winery was terrible as we were hearded through like sheep and only given 2 wines to try and they were the cheapest...the table next to us had more choices It was very disapointing to say the least
