Tashkent-Khiva

Itchan Kala - Serving as the gateway to the desert, Itchan Kala is the largest preserved walled city in Central Asia. Situated in the heart of Khiva, this inner fortified city boasts over 50 historic monuments and 250 traditional homes dating back to the 19th century and earlier. It is an ideal location to admire the evolution of Islamic architecture. Step back in time and explore Khiva to experience the vibrant life along the Silk Road.

Islam Khodja Complex - The Islam-Khodja Complex is a gem of Ichan-Kala, Khiva’s historical section, and was the first site in Uzbekistan to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990. Although the madrasah and minaret were constructed between 1908 and 1910, they are the most notable features of Ichan-Kala. The complex is renowned for the contrast between its tallest minaret and smallest madrasah, as designed by the architect. The minaret, visible from afar, appears even more majestic. In the early 20th century, it helped travelers navigate their way to the city.

Citadel Kunya-ark - Among the many historical sites in Khiva’s inner city, Ichan-kala, the Kunya-Ark Fortress, the residence of the Khiva khans built at the end of the 17th century, is particularly noteworthy.

Kalta Minor Minaret - This broad, turquoise-tiled minaret was initiated in 1851 by Mohammed Amin Khan, who, according to legend, intended to build a minaret so tall he could see all the way to Bukhara. Sadly, the khan passed away in 1855, leaving the beautifully tiled structure incomplete.

Khiva-Bukhara

Khiva railway station - Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At 10:00, transfer to Khiva railway station. The 11:10 train to Bukhara offers views of the Great Silk Road, which traverses the Kyzylkum Desert between Khiva and Bukhara. Arrival in Bukhara is at 18:14. A driver will meet you at the Bukhara train station for transfer to the hotel. Enjoy leisure time and an overnight stay.

Bukhara

Ulugbek Madrasah - The Ulugbek Madrasah in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, is the oldest surviving madrasah in Central Asia, built in 1417 by the renowned astronomer and ruler Mirzo Ulugbek.

Moschea Bolo-khauz - The most striking feature of the Bolo Hauz Mosque is the tall, intricately carved pillars at the entrance. Built in the 17th century, the complex includes a small pond used as a water reservoir and a short minaret.

Chor-Minor - The name “chor-minor” means “four minarets” in Tajik. The four pillars topped with vibrant blue domes give this structure its unique shape.

Ark of Bukhara - This massive fortress takes about two hours to explore. It houses approximately eight different museums.

Lyab-i-Hauz - Surrounding the pool on three sides, it includes Nadir Divanbegi Madrassa, Khanaka, Kukeldash Madrassa, and the monument of Khodja Nasreddin.

Poi Kalyan Mosque - Known as ‘The foot of the great’, it consists of three structures built between the 12th and 16th centuries.

Mir-i-Arab Madrasa - Constructed in the 16th century, it remains an operational madrasah and houses the shrine of Mir Arab.

Great Minaret of the Kalon - The Kalyan minaret is part of the Po-i-Kalyan mosque complex in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, and is one of the city’s most prominent landmarks.

Samarkand

Gur Emir Mausoleum - Gur-e Amir, meaning “Tomb of the King” in Persian, is an architectural complex with an azure dome containing the tombs of Tamerlane.

Registan - The heart of Samarkand and a true showcase of Central Asian medieval architecture, it consists of three grand buildings: Ulughbek Madrassa, Madrassa Sherdor, and Madrassa Tilla Kori.

Bibi Khanym Mosque - In the 15th century, it was one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world, considered a masterpiece of the Timurid Renaissance.

Siyob Bozor - The largest bazaar in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, selling all daily necessities, including “Samarkand naan”. Located next to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, it attracts both locals and tourists.

Shah-i-Zinda - This ensemble includes mausoleums and other ritual buildings from the 11th to 15th and 19th centuries.

Ulugh Beg Observatory - Built in the 1420s by the Timurid astronomer Ulugh Beg, this observatory is located in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Tashkent

Kukeldash Madrasah - One of the most renowned historical sites in Uzbekistan’s capital, built in 1570 under the Shaybanid Dynasty. It is a beautiful example of Islamic architecture and worth visiting.

Amir Temur Square - Founded in 1882 and originally named Konstantinovsky Square, it was renamed on August 31, 1994, to honor Amir Timur’s cultural and historical contributions.

Amir Timur Museum - The museum’s most impressive area is the central rotunda, featuring a Quran copy at its center with a vibrant mural behind it. The domed ceiling is painted gold with a stunning chandelier.

Ensemble Hazrati Imam - A religious center in the city, consisting of the Barakkhan madrasah, Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, and the library of Islamic Literature with the Holy Quran Book of the VII century (original Quran Othman). Khast Imam is a significant spiritual center in Central Asia, attracting pilgrims and visitors worldwide.

Independence Square (Mustakillik Square) - The main square of Uzbekistan reflects the country’s past, present, and future. Fountains symbolize the life energy of the Uzbek people, alongside the Cabinet and the Senate, and the “Eternal flame” honors soldiers who died during the Second World War.

Chorsu Bazaar - Tashkent’s ancient bazaar, “Chorsu” means “four waters”, symbolizing the convergence of four major parts of the old city where people come to trade.

Monument of Courage Earthquake Memorial - This monument commemorates the tragic earthquake in Tashkent on April 26, 1966, and is located near the earthquake’s epicenter. Residents still visit to honor those who helped rebuild Tashkent.

Minor Mosque - A sparkling new mosque located in the northeastern part of the capital.

Uzbekistan State Museum of Applied Art - Home to over 4,000 exhibits on Uzbekistan’s decorative art.

Metro Taschkent - Each station features unique architectural and artistic decoration.
