Lovingly curated collection of Pre-Roman historical artifacts - Skip the big city sites and visit this small but amazing museum. I visited last summer after the tomb site. The beauty of this museum is in the building as much as the exhibits – from the peaceful patio and pillars to the deep set window seats. The large pieces such as sarcophagi are downstairs. Upstairs each room naturally unfolds to the next category of exhibits. It includes metalwork such as tools and weapons, pottery reminiscent of the most ornate Grecian work progressing to smaller items such as coins. It is lovingly assembled, leisurely and uncrowded. I had it to myself. It helped me bridge a gap in my understanding of Italian history. The view from outside is beautiful. There is a small and limited shop. Across the street is a small sidewalk café with delicious offerings including salads.

Great area, driver was not a tour guide. - Tarquinia and Tuscania are very interesting, but the tour provided very little information. The driver was great and very polite, as a driver - but we were expecting more of a tour with local information, etc. Driver didn't even have a lunch recommendation in Tarquinia or places to visit. We ended up having to scramble with Google to make our own "tour"

Awful trip!! - We were told a luxury sedan would pick us up. Instead it was an old mini van that picked us up and then drove us to parking lot to get into another old minivan. Hub caps missing. Our driver knew nothing.
