- Porta Messina - Your personal tour leader will pick you up from the hotel or other location at your convenience at a time that suits you best. You will live this amazing adventure walking in the unique national park of Gole Alcantara. Several thousand years ago, the Alcantara river’s bed was blocked by a lava flow from Mount Etna. As the lava was cooled much more quickly by the water than it would have done otherwise, it crystallised in the form of columns. Over the next millenia, the river naturally eroded a channel through these columns, resulting in impressive gorges and ravines. During this private tour, you will see this natural fenomenon, may swim in cool water, enjoy Sicilian nature inside the beautiful park. Later you are welcome to feel the ancient atmosphere of the old Sicilian seaside town Giardini Naxos, the first Greek colony on the island, followed by superb food and wine tasting in one of the best wine bars with stunning view of the bay.

Tour of alcantara - We had a great trip with Alberto. He was informative and very helpful throughout the tour. He also took us on a spontaneous hike up to an old castle on a hill on our request which ended up being the highlight for me.

Fabulous tour of Sicily - This was a fabulous way to spend the day. We had a wonderful exposure to the exceptional beauty of Sicily. Alcantara is a spectacular site. The trip to Alcantara was so scenic and interesting. Then we had the most wonderful time at the food and wine tasting. Not only was the food exceptional and the wine exquisite, but the family of the wine maker and restaurant were so entertaining and hospitable. We sat outside and enjoyed every minute !
The vehicle was large and comfortable and our guide, Pasquale from Taormina was so very accomodating. We fell in love with Sicily, the food, wine but mostly the people. We shall return!
I would do it again! And I would request Pasquale.

We had an amazing tour... - We had an amazing tour with our guide Nino. He was very informative and was already at the dock waiting for us once we exited our cruise ship. The meal was delicious. Nino also went out of his way to find a bakery for us to buy some pastries.

Wonderful experience - Gole Alcantara was amazing to see. Bruno our tour guide was great. The food and wine tasting was delicious and they were so accommodating for those of us who had food allergies.

Amazing trip - Booking was quick and easy and our day was better than we could have imagined. Maurizo was extremely informative and friendly and told us lots about the surrounding area and history
Good and wine at the local restaurant was delicious and we really couldn’t have asked for a better trip! We wished we had longer to explore more.

Last minute cancellation - I booked the tour months in advance and received an email that it was cancelled the night before. This was a stop during a cruise and therefore, I had limited options available at the late notice due to excursions were already full. I had to remain on the ship or go somewhere we really weren't interested in. I would avoid unless you have a back-up plan.
