Embark on a day expedition from Taormina to the renowned fiery Mount Etna of Sicily. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this colossal volcano, the highest active one in Europe, offers spectacular views over the national park, Parco dell’Etna. Experience a 3-hour solo hike exploring the lower slopes or opt for an upgrade that includes transportation to the volcano’s high area as well as a guided tour of the topmost crater, complete with a Mountain Guide service. The usual point of departure is the Taormina Bus Terminal, but alternative pick up locations can be arranged upon request, along the route.
- Warm clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended
- The high-altitude ascents are not indicated for heart passengers, asthmatics and pregnant women.
- Please note that for your safety, all excursions to Etna do not reach the edge of the main craters and customers are always kept on a safety zone.
- The cost of the excursion to Etna, ascent inclusive, has a special price valid only with advance reservation. When buying the ascent on board, the cost will be higher.

Full access tour - The trip was amazing. The bus ride in was very knowledgable, with lots to look at and learn. 100% it's worth the upgrade to be able to use the Cable car and the 4x4 to get up to the top. Once at the very top you get to walk around the 2022 Eruption Crater. Not physically exhausting at all. Lots of areas to get food and beverages at the bottom. 3 pick up/ drop off points which worked great for people even not staying in Taormina. If you are not planning on paying for the cable car/ 4x4 it's very unlikely you will be able to hike to the top in time to get back to your departure.

It had snowed and that... - It had snowed and that was really cool. It wasn't a lot of walking just enough. Even though it had snowed it wasn't very cold.

Ambition fulfilled - I was looking forward to the moment I was standing on Etna since I was 20. I am now 64

Highly recommended - A varied and highly recommended tour with a gorge, train ride and a visit to Mount Etna including a cable car. The bus takes you to an altitude of 1900m and you can also book a cable car ride and a guided tour of Mount Etna. Highly recommended if it is not too windy. The wind is strong and freezing cold there. Your ears in particular need protection! Our guide Renate was very enthusiastic and gave us lots of interesting information in German, English and Italian. I would have liked more time for the gorge, as most of the insights are gained on a circular path above the gorge and that takes time.

Mount Etna day trip from Taormina - Fab trip which included exactly what we were looking for. Bus to cable car, then cable car to top, then a walk around some craters and great viewing experience.

any time.... - Highly recommended 👍The guide and driver tried everything to accommodate each guest (after all, the tour group included people aged between 1 and 70). Perfect for a first impression of the Etna region.

Good trip - Pick up on time, good guide on bus multi - lingual. Clear on explaining what was going to happen. Enough time to take photos at cable car summit.
4x4 was fun, the guided walk less so; we had a howling wind with a low cloud base that was changing all the time. Quite scary but exhilarating when completed.
Journey back with less commentary which was fine.

Nice, but too little free time - For an 8-hour tour on Taormina, we were only really on the mountain for 2 hours.
Unfortunately, we had little time & in general the Etna experience is a mass process, which makes the experience not so special anymore

Etna was beautiful as... - Etna was beautiful as expected but the guide was neither nice nor good. Very expensive tour as well.
