Arrive at Serengeti National Park by early afternoon. After lunch and check-in at the lodge or tented camp, embark on an afternoon game drive across the vast plains. The Serengeti is renowned for its remarkable wildlife density — it’s common to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and hyenas all in one drive. If fortunate and it’s migration season, witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving in long lines across the horizon.

Conclude the day back at the lodge with a hearty dinner and a night under the stars.

Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Today offers a full immersion into the heart of the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, take a packed picnic lunch and set out for a full-day safari, exploring different regions of the park where wildlife is most active.

Traverse river valleys, expansive plains, and rocky outcrops known as kopjes — ideal hiding spots for lions. Expect to see giraffes, warthogs, buffalo herds, jackals, and more. The Serengeti is alive with drama, whether it’s a predator on the hunt or a newborn gazelle taking its first steps.

Lunch is enjoyed picnic-style in a scenic spot in the wild, with giraffes or elephants possibly grazing nearby.

Return to camp before nightfall, feeling tired but exhilarated. Freshen up and enjoy a fireside dinner as the sounds of the Serengeti echo in the distance.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Depart the Serengeti after breakfast and drive southeast towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving around midday. After checking into the lodge on the crater rim and enjoying lunch, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater — the largest intact volcanic caldera on Earth.

This natural amphitheater is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo) in a single game drive. The rich grasslands and permanent water sources support dense wildlife, including flamingos, hippos, zebras, hyenas, and jackals. The views are surreal — a lush, green basin surrounded by steep crater walls, teeming with life.

Visit the Ngoitoktok Springs, a favorite watering hole for animals, before ascending back to the crater rim for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro to Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater - After an early breakfast, check out and begin the journey back to Arusha. As the drive continues through the highlands and out of the conservation area, there’s a final chance to spot wildlife along the way — zebras, antelope, and even elephants may cross the path.

Arrive in Arusha in the early afternoon, where the guide will drop off at the hotel or airport, marking the end of the safari adventure.
