Arusha-Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara National Park - Meet the professional tour guide/driver in Arusha town for a brief safari information session before traveling to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrival is scheduled in time for lunch at the lodge. Post-lunch, the journey continues into Lake Manyara National Park. This remarkable park is one of Tanzania’s most stunningly situated wildlife areas, featuring a vast but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the base of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s diverse habitat attracts a wide array of animals, including one of Africa’s largest elephant populations, Manyara’s renowned tree-climbing lions, and large flocks of flamingos drawn by the lake’s algae.

Lake Manyara National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - Non-game-viewing travel time: 2 hours

Distance: 60 km

After breakfast, collect a packed lunch and transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, descend 600 meters into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated African wildlife areas globally, home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. With a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another major attraction of this scenic national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater.

Ngorongoro Crater - Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - Travel time: 3 ½ hours
Distance: 155 km

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Post-lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. The park follows the Tarangire River and is primarily composed of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with extensive swamp areas in the south. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged according to the chosen accommodation standard and type.

Tarangire National Park - Arusha

Arusha - Non-game-viewing travel time: 2 hours
Distance: 90 km

After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park. Both the river and the swamps attract wildlife during Tanzania’s dry season. Tarangire National Park is renowned for having some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This national park is also home to three rare animal species – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and a few Ashy Starlings. Return to the lodge for lunch, after which the journey back to Arusha town begins, concluding the African safari adventure. It is customary for the group to tip the tour guide approximately $20 to $30 per day for all safaris. Guests will be taken to their hotel, marking the end of the safari package services.
