continent of Africa!
From the summit we begin our descent by continuing straight down to the

It is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and diverse landscapes, including lush rainforests, expansive heathlands, moorlands, and stunning alpine desert zones. Trekkers experience a wide range of ecosystems, offering a comprehensive journey through Kilimanjaro’s natural beauty. Compared to some of the more popular routes like Marangu and Machame, Lemosho typically has fewer trekkers, providing a quieter and more serene trekking experience. The longer duration (usually 7-8 days) and gradual ascent profile of Lemosho contribute to a higher success rate in reaching the summit. This route allows for better acclimatization, reducing the risk of altitude-related issues. Lemosho passes through remote and less-traveled areas of Kilimanjaro, offering opportunities to spot wildlife such as elephants, buffalo, and antelope, as well as a variety of unique flora. The route approaches the summit from the west, providing stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s western slopes and the Shira Plateau.
