Kilimanjaro National Park - Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a guide will warmly welcome you and facilitate your transfer to Arusha.
Arusha - Arusha is celebrated for its vibrant markets, charming coffee shops, and stunning mountain vistas. It is also recognized as the safari capital of the country! From this location, all the parks within Tanzania’s renowned Northern Safari Circuit are easily accessible. Upon reaching the town, a guide from Chalema Tanzania Safaris will greet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and escort you to the first destination on the Northern Circuit Migration Tour: the Pazuri Inn, located in Arusha. After checking into your cabin-style suite, you can unwind by the pool, explore the hotel gardens, or venture into town to enjoy a delicious local meal.
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Today, the focus is on the often-overlooked Tarangire National Park, reached by a two-hour journey west from Arusha. This park is a paradise for nature enthusiasts, especially during the green season when its magnificent baobab trees are adorned with lush green leaves. During the dry season, expect to witness vast herds of buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra, often numbering in the thousands. Regardless of the season, Tarangire is renowned for its resident elephant population, offering unforgettable encounters. After a full day of game drives and a picnic lunch, accommodations will be at the Suricata Boma Lodge just outside the park.
Serengeti (Ndutu)
Serengeti National Park - After savoring morning coffee or tea, the journey continues to the expansive plains of the Serengeti. The travel time today is approximately four hours, much of which is spent in the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon reaching Serengeti National Park, game drives will focus on the Ndutu region of the southern plains, known for its year-round predator population. The Ndutu area also hosts the breathtaking wildebeest and zebra migration from December to March, providing a rare chance to witness newborn wildebeest taking their first steps shortly after birth. Later in the evening, accommodations will be at the Ndutu Bush Camp for the next two nights.
Serengeti Ndutu (Full Day)
Serengeti National Park - The Great Migration is the highlight in the Serengeti, with wildebeest synchronizing their births between December and March, resulting in an abundance of calves that predators cannot capture all at once. Thousands of antelopes are born daily during this period, attracting the Serengeti’s big cats: lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The entire day will be spent in the park, with a picnic lunch near the herds. In the evening, return to the Ndutu Bush Camp to enjoy dinner and share experiences with fellow travelers around the campfire.
Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
Serengeti National Park - Begin the day in Southern Serengeti, preparing for an exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After a delightful breakfast while watching the magnificent Serengeti sunrise, enjoy one last game drive while exiting the park towards Ngorongoro Crater. This brief journey takes about two hours through the picturesque Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The crater, formed millions of years ago by a volcanic eruption, is now a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, including Africa’s Big Five. It is the best reserve in Tanzania to spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and black rhinoceros all in one location. Additionally, there are many other animals to observe, such as spotted hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and over 500 bird species. After departing the crater, check in at the elegant Eileen’s Tree Inn near Karatu.
