Ngorongoro Crater - Start the day with breakfast at 6:30 am, then head to the Ngorongoro Crater floor to witness the “Big Five” and a variety of bird species, including the black rhino. Spend the entire day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, renowned as the world’s largest inactive and intact volcanic caldera. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge.
Lake Eyasi – Cultural Interaction
Lake Eyasi - After breakfast, travel along the rugged road to Lake Eyasi, a soda lake in the Rift Valley. Arrive in the afternoon for a cultural experience with the fascinating Tatoga tribe, guided by a local Tatoga guide. Explore the dry, rugged landscape on foot, home to the Hadzabe or Watindiga bushmen, who continue to live traditionally by hunting and gathering. The Datoga tribe, also known as the Barabaig or Mang’ati, is another intriguing group in the area, historically known for their rivalry with the Maasai over grazing land.
Lake Eyasi – Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara National Park - Begin the day with a hunting tour with the bushmen, then return to the lodge for breakfast. Depart for Lake Manyara for a full day of game drives. Inside the park, observe tree-climbing lions and numerous flamingos drawn by the lake’s algae, and visit a hot spring. Additionally, visit a Maasai boma to learn about their culture and traditions before returning to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.
