Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Begin your day with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha and travel to Tarangire National Park for exciting game drives. The park is situated along the Tarangire River and features low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural landscape is primarily composed of Acacia woodland and majestic African Baobab trees, with expansive swamp areas in the south. During Tanzania’s dry season, both the river and swamps attract a multitude of wild animals. Tarangire National Park is renowned for hosting some of Africa’s largest elephant herds from June to October. The intense sun draws moisture from the land, turning the earth a dusty red and the dry grass as brittle as straw. This African National Park is also home to three rare animal species – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and a few Ashy Starlings. After enjoying a picnic lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive, then proceed to Karatu for an overnight stay and dinner at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, continue your journey towards Serengeti National Park. As the drive from Karatu takes a few hours, lunch will be enjoyed en route or just before entering the park. Upon arrival, engage in an afternoon game drive. This park spans an area of 14,763 square kilometers, and its name, Serengeti, is derived from the Maasai language, meaning “endless plains.” The Serengeti hosts one of nature’s most spectacular events, The Great Migration. Over a million wildebeests embark on a 600-mile journey through crocodile-infested waters during their annual northward migration. They return south to replenish the species in a brief population surge, producing over 8,000 calves daily before the migration cycle resumes. Depending on the season, the game drive will explore various parts of the Serengeti. After the game drive and witnessing the stunning sunset over the plains, proceed to the Serengeti Osupuko Tented Camp for an overnight stay and dinner.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Delight in another day of wildlife viewing from a different location deep within the Serengeti. Home to hundreds of thousands of hoofed animals, the Serengeti is a pristine and unique sanctuary offering a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.” Enjoy the vastness of the Serengeti, “the land that flows on forever,” along with some of the finest animal viewing Africa has to offer. In the afternoon, after another day filled with extraordinary wildlife experiences, continue your journey towards the Ngorongoro Crater, where you will overnight and dine near the crater rim at Rhino Lodge.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - Today, explore Ngorongoro Crater, characterized by a large, unbroken, and unfolded volcanic caldera. The crater, formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is mostly open grassland with two small wooded areas. Game drives through the Ngorongoro Crater commence early in the morning in safari vehicles with pop-up roofs. The descent into the crater offers scenic beauty as you traverse lush forests, home to numerous elephants and buffaloes. Upon reaching the crater’s interior, your guide will lead you through the grassy crater floor, the remarkable fever tree forest, the banks of Lake Magadi, and the surrounding marshes. Lunch is served picnic-style, amidst the natural wonders and exceptional wildlife that roam freely in this extraordinary paradise. After your picnic lunch, return to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
