Lake Manyara National Park - Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha, then travel by road to Lake Manyara National Park with a packed lunch. This park boasts a variety of habitats, from the Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides, making it a perfect safari destination for honeymooners. It is renowned for its tree-climbing lions and large elephant herds. The lake’s shores, adorned with pink flamingos, attract over 400 bird species. Large herds of buffalo, cheetah, Masai giraffe, and impala wander the lake shores and valley slopes. Spend the night at Jambo campsite or a similar location.
Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater.
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast, travel to Ngorongoro Crater, a short 80-kilometer (1.5-hour) drive. This crater is one of the largest intact volcanic calderas globally, offering game viewing to a permanent population of over 30,000 animals, a unique feature in Africa. Large grazing animals such as wildebeest, buffalo, gazelle, and zebra thrive on the crater’s open grasslands, attracting predators like the black-maned lion, leopard, and hyena. The elephants here are solitary males. The Fever Tree forests provide shelter for monkeys, bushbuck, and waterbuck, as well as the few black rhinos that have found refuge here. A soda lake draws water birds, including flamingos, and is a favored spot for predators to hunt. With its stunning beauty, it’s no wonder Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as a Garden of Eden. Enjoy a full-day game drive on the crater floor. After lunch, continue with a game drive as you ascend to the crater rim and return to Arusha. Meal plan includes breakfast and lunch.
