• Giraffe Centre - The tour begins with a pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or residence at 8 AM. You will be transported to the Giraffe Centre, where you will learn about the conservation efforts to protect an endangered species. The center’s primary goal is to safeguard and assist in the breeding of the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. Under the guidance of a professional, visitors can feed the giraffes from an elevated observation platform, allowing them to meet the giraffes at eye level. The center also features a large auditorium where guests can attend talks on giraffe conservation and various activities the center is involved in.
• Sheldrick Wildlife Trust - The next stop is the Elephant Orphanage, which is open exclusively from 11 AM to 12 noon. Here, you can observe rescued baby and teenage elephants and learn their unique stories, including how they arrived, how they were named, and the plans for their release. Daphne Sheldrick, as part of the David Sheldrick Conservation Foundation, rehabilitates baby elephants and other wildlife at her home just outside Nairobi National Park. These young elephants have lost their mothers due to poaching, death, injuries, getting lost in the wild, or other tragedies.
• KOBE TOUGH Beads & Leather - Next, you will be driven to the Kobe Beads factory, a pottery company renowned for creating some of the world’s most beautiful beads. You will be shown all the stages of production from start to finish.
• Maasai Market Collections Karen - You will be taken out for lunch (at your own expense) at Bomas cultural dance show, Tamambo, or a similar restaurant, followed by entry into an auditorium for cultural dances. The tribal cultural shows occur daily from 2:30 PM to 4 PM and showcase tribal talent in music, dance, drama, fashion shows, poetry/recitals, and comedies.
