Fantastic Day Trip to Tangier - While visiting Spain we decided to visit Tangier in Morocco. Since our group consisted of three ladies who had never visited Morocco we thought it would be a good idea to hire a guide. After researching we decided to book through Viator Tangier Tours with Ali. Several days before our scheduled trip Ali reached out to us by a telephone call and also messaging to confirm our trip. When we spoke he asked exactly what we wanted to see and do so what he could tailor the trip to our wants and needs. He gave very precise instructions on how we would be met as soon as we stepped off the ferry and confirmed our ferry name, location and time. He also informed us that his brother Karim would be our guide for the day. Karim was at the ferry when we arrived and after taking us to a very nice shuttle stocked with drinks and supplies our trip began. Karim was extremely friendly, polite, intelligent, knowledgeable and gave us such a thorough historical and cultural perspective of Morroco. Karim was also witty and had a wonderful sense of humor. We laughed all day long. We ran into Ali several times throughout the day as he too had a tour and Ali was also wonderful and kind. We did everything the tour stated and more. When we decided we wanted to take a later ferry home Karim took care of it for us and stayed with our group until the end and took us back to the ferry. Truly Karim was so thoughtful and caring about our every need that he made this the best guided tour we ever took. I highly recommend using this group if you wish to tour Morocco. Whether you get Karim or Ali you will be in highly capable hands and have the time of your life.

10-10 excursion! Thankyou Hassan, Ali and Mo! - Hassan was an awesome guide. He was informative and EVERYONE around town knew him. Nothing like getting out of the car at the Medina and a total stranger comes up to say “you are in awesome hands”. We really enjoyed the camel ride, all the beautiful sights and the extra special things Hassan organized for us. The lunch was at a beautiful traditional location, the artisan work shopping was fun and the walk through the Medina was wonderful. I went with my younger daughter and Hassan knew where and how to take pics. So glad we did this tour as we got to see things we would never never have had the opportunity to see. Thank you!

Give Coca Cola a try! - Coca Cola was a great tour guide! Easy pick up at the ferry terminal, onto a well appointed van with separate driver so the guide could show the sites and answer questions. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Great experience! - We were around the area of Tarifa, Spain, so it was really tempting to take a one hour ferry to see Tangier, get a taste of Morocco. I’m so glad we did. After we arrived, our guide Abdul, and private driver were already there waiting for us outside the ferry terminal. We went to a nice restaurant for brunch, the almond butter desert was so good. Went to the place where the Atlantic and Mediterranean ocean merges. One of the highlights was the camel ride on a beautiful beach, so much fun! We went to another place to eat later in the Medina(old town) with great food and great view. Abdul took us to a lot of interesting places, showed us how the locals lived, told stories and history behind the places we visited. Abdul was absolutely pleasant, knowledgeable, his English is very good, very easy to understand. We are so glad to have him as our guide. If you are in south Spain, or passing by Tarifa, highly recommend doing this tour. Very easy! Thank you Abdul! Great to meet you! And thank you Ali for arranging my tour time change due to missing an earlier ferry.

Been on fifty private tours and Ali was one of the best. Only go with Ali if you want to have fun & see all of Tangier - Ali was an amazing tour guide. My family and I travel all over the world a few times a year and Ali was a superstar. From the moment you meet him is personality electric. He only wanted us to have an amazing time and we sure did. It was non stop action seeing all of tangier and his knowledge of the history and the area was extensive. Everywhere we went everyone knew him. His dad was a tour guide for 30 years and it’s a family business. Ali took great pictures of us and he always offered. He is born and raised in Tangier and you really feel like a local when you are with him. By the end of our tour we felt like we had a family member in Tangier. Ali has three children so if you have kids I think he would be great also. We were 3 couples. The Mercedes van we travelled around in was awesome. The lunch Ali took us to was the best food in Morroco. We will definitely be back and if your fortunate to have a tour with Ali, you will love it.

Great day out! - We (family of 4) were in Tangier on a day trip from Tarifa and wanted to make the most of it. We opted for this trip after reading the reviews so it’s only fair we add our own review. In a nutshell, it’s hard to imagine topping this experience for a single day. Our host Hassan (Coca Cola) was very friendly and kind. He was there with us from the start to the end. The van was comfortable and the driver was also friendly. We liked Hassan’s explanations about the different destinations and he did his best to answer all our queries. It’s amazing that he taught himself all the English he speaks. It was also Ramadan when we were in Tangier and he was fasting. But he went all out to make sure our experience didn’t suffer. Did it feel like we were in a tourist trap? Yes, parts definitely did. But it was all fun. You are able to request a stop even if it is not on the itinerary. We spent a good amount of time at the American Legation museum. Recommend it for those interested in American history in the area. Not a fan of the restaurant we were taken to for lunch. But it was Ramadan and most places were closed. Did not plan on any shopping but the shop Hassan took us to had some friendly and convincing salesmen and we came away buying a rug and a lamp. Some googling later told me I didn’t quite bargain as much I could have but that’s all part of the experience. Overall, would do it again. Definitely better than trying to wing it on our own! Thanks Hassan.

We want to visit, not buy! - Very friendly and interesting guide. The first part of the day was particularly pleasant. We learn a lot about Tangier, the neighborhoods, visiting caves, Cape Spartel where the Mediterranean and the Atlantic meet, fascinating. This until the visit to the souk and there is the trap: the guide entrusts you to one of his “contacts” a carpet merchant even though we had not asked. He takes out dozens of rugs for all of us and offers us the tea that we refused. In short, we feel obliged to take something... He offers a 2mx3m kilim style rug for €1600. Did he take us for Americans? We don't want carpets, we already have them, nor Moroccan dishes or saucers!!! After a painful 45 minutes or even an hour we leave and then we start again with another one and the same scenario. It was 2:30 p.m. and we were very hungry. We told the guide to stop! We'll stop there, show us a restaurant and we'll let you go. We felt that he didn't like it because he didn't get his extra... He left us in a very good, typical and inexpensive restaurant. So to summarize by taking a guide and if you only want to visit and not buy you must make it clear before leaving: you want to visit not buy
