You will regret it if you don't go! So much fun with Captain Scott! Will definitely do this again. - The MOST fun you're going to have on the water in Pass-A-Grille! You're already here reading excellent review after excellent review, which means you want to go, whether that's a wave runner, a pontoon, or a mini-speedboat, so do it! Don't worry if you have zero boating experience; it truly does not matter. I swear, I haven't had this much fun in a quite some time. My husband and I booked a mini speedboat at the end of the day and lucked out with Captain Scott. Oh my God, I felt like we have been friends with him forever. One of the most genuine people I've ever met. We had an absolute BLAST with him, chatting as we idled in wake zones and as he pointed out some of the interesting things to see. I had no idea we were going to see so much - you aren't just circling an island. . .you're really out for a tour! It's so much fun being able to switch it up going fast and then hugging the docks and going at a much more leisurely pace in wake/idle zones. Captain Scott is the real deal. On the way back to the marina, we had just passed an oncoming boat and had some big waves to navigate. *THEN,* a big boat (okay, big when you're in a 13' boat) cut between us and Captain Scott when we were running at full throttle. It was obvious that the other boat did it on purpose. Even before the guy cut between us, Scott radioed over to us *immediately* to tell us what we should do to make sure we stayed safe (I actually happened to be taking video when this other boater did this). It was also kinda cool that a few minutes later, the Pinellas County Sheriff's boat went past, sirens running, chasing down that guy. But rest assured that Captain Scott has his eyes on you even when you're at full throttle and you're behind him. When you are in the middle of a lot of boat traffic, he has his eyes on you. That's important, and it's evident that he wants you to have fun AND stay safe. My husband and I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and we would certainly ask for Captain Scott on any other tour that we book when we return. Thanks so much for a great afternoon!

You will have a blast. Just do it!!!! - This was the best part about our trip to the Tampa/Clearwater area. Being in control of a boat was a first for us and we had a blast and highly recommend. Scott our Captain was a blast and made us feel very comfortable and checked in with us frequently to make certain we were ok. The free parking was a plus and on the same premises.

The Tampa adventure me and wifey needed - This was such a wonderful overall experience! Captain Scott guided us around Tampa Bay and provided not only some very interesting historical info, but funny real life stories too while cruising around. We loved the mixture of going fast as well as the slow cruise to take in the sites. With zero experience handling a boat, there was never a point where we felt scared or unsafe, which was really important, and we loved being able to switch who was driving mid point, so that both of us can fully experience this.

You must try this speedboat experience! Captain Scott is the best! - Our speedboating experience was 12 outta 10, the views were great and Captain Scott was a true joy to tour with! He made this surprise experience for my husband so incredible. We even lucked up and saw a dolphin up close! We'll definitely be back and tell all of our friends to try this!

Great fun with the guys - Good time racing throug the bay. Captain Scott was a great guide and we all had fun in the water. Boats were comfy and awesome in the water. I would have prefered more speed, but can see how that would be a bad idea in choppy water.

Don't waste your money unless you are an experienced boater - The FAQ on the website says it's "no problem" if you've never driven a boat before and that the "boats are very simple to operate." That is a lie. During my briefing, I was only given a couple minutes of instruction on boat controls and most of that was on the throttle. The ONLY instructions on steering were "turn the wheel left to steer left, turn right to steer right" and nothing else. Once my boat was pushed away from the dock, I immediately had difficulty getting it to go in the direction I wanted it to as the boat was constantly drifting to one side or the other, meaning that at idle I was only able to do wide S-curves while struggling for control. I flagged the guide down as he caught up to us to try to ask for assistance. He WILDLY overreacted; instead of offering advice, he towed me back to the dock and kicked me off the tour claiming I was a danger to myself and that he had given complete instructions on steering containing everything I needed to know (again, those instructions were nothing more than "turn left to steer left, turn right to steer right"). Even when I pointed out that I was having trouble and that clearly it wasn't enough, he doubled down on this obviously false claim. Not only am I out the cost of the experience itself, but I'm also out over $100 for Uber rides there and back from my hotel in Indian Rocks Beach (surge rates because of Gasparilla) and I have lost three-quarters of a day in my two-day vacation from Ohio. I could have spent that time on the beach or doing other fun things. Bottom line: don't waste your money here unless you already have experience operating speedboats. I'd give zero stars if I could.
