Expensive for a single visit but a ridiculous bargain for longer. - Here are the highlights! *Plenty of free parking *EXPENSIVE for a single visit but a bargain for multiples. Make sure to pay about $4 extra for unlimited returns. Be aware, there are more than one such options which include 12 months or only the remainder of the current year, blackout dates including spring break etc. Look these choices over carefully for what’s best for you. * Their app isn’t very helpful in getting around; it lags and sends you in the wrong direction before correcting itself. We gave up after 15 minutes and used their map to get around for the next 4 hours. *This is a fantastic place for toddlers and very young children, with water features and kiddie rides. * Extra charges for all the “experiences” but the truck ride is Free! We missed it because we thought it was another “up sell” * Multiple misting stations throughout the park to keep you cool on a hot day! * It’s not a large zoo but it still took us over four hours to explore. The hub and spoke layout makes it seem larger than it is. * The macaw flyover is a very entertaining and fun show. Don’t miss it. * The Florida area is blockaded in the middle due to construction. This IS shown on the map. Plan accordingly and Treat it as two separate lands.

Great place to go with family and friends! - There are lots of different animals. You can book an interaction with some of the animals such as rhinos, giraffes, and penguins. My younger grandaughter's favorite place at the zoo is the manatee viewing center in the Florida area. My older grandaughter's favorite place is the Florida Panther and the alligators. There are rainbow lorikeets that you can feed. There are a few rides like Roaring Springs and a tiger roller coaster. They have a few places to eat and get unique souvenirs. Also, there are some yearly attractions like Dinos Unearthed, Creatures of the Night, and Christmas in the Wild. The Christmas and Halloween attraction are geared toward younger children, but the Dinosaur exhibit is good for all ages. The staff keep the animal cages clean, care for the animals well and keep them active. They are very helpful and knowlegeable about the animals. The zoo is separated into continents ( and Florida.) Each continent has animals native to it. We always enjoy visiting, so we got memberships to go as much as we want in a year.

Great time had by all! - Had a thoroughly good time. This was the first zoo experience for my great granddaughters (ages 7, 13 & 16) AND their mother. They all enjoyed everything. My only "complaint" is so many animals hiding due to heat, which of course wasn't any fault of your's. It only proves many animals are smarter than many humans 🙂

Sunday at the zoo - We spent a Sunday at the zoo. There’s a lot of advertisements and we had heard a lot of positive things from people about it. I think it was a case of that. We just were had higher expectations because of all the good feedback that we had had the zoo was OK, but it wasn’t anything great there’s definitely better zoo out there. They did have a good dinosaur expo that was kind of cool and we did see a lot of movement. the animals, which was maybe just due to the day I would say for what you get. The price was a little high but still a family fun activity for the kids. There is a park right along side. You could bring food and have a picnic in the park and save on some money rather than buying food in the zoo, but there are a good a lot of good options for food in the zoo. We did walking tacos.

Tampa Zoo was Fabulous! - The zoo was amazing! Had such a great time. Just bring your own food, the food was awful. But the exhibits were great and I loved that some of the zoo workers were around to answer questions and speak with the guests.

Day out at Zoo Tampa - Although we had a good time a lot of the attractions and activities were closed for refurbishment this was not mentioned when booking the tickets nor was anything deducted from the price. Also the signage round the park could have been better. The other problem I had was that events were timed so that an activity would be in one area and the next would be at the other side of the site with little time to get there. Having said that we did have a good time and when the work has been done it will improve greatly.

A lot of closures and construction - The underwater manatee viewing area was closed off for construction along with the bat exhibit. Those were two of my favorites. Then I discover the aviary exhibit was closed too! I was a little sad but the dino experience made up for it a tad. Tips: -If you have access to govx, check out their discounts and grab refillable drink container. You will need it because it gets hot! -Go early when they first open and you can see all of the animals active when they first hit their exhibits and start to feed. -Head over to the safari ride first before the lines get too long.

Average for the price - We felt that for the price the zoo was average at best. I understand they are doing some upgrades and some exhibits were closed. Some of the animals were alone such as the tiger and the panther. It seems they would do better with a companion but I’m not an expert on that matter. The flamingo exhibit was really disappointing. It was very small & paled in comparison to others I’ve seen. There was plenty of zoo staff around who were helpful in answering questions. Hopefully when they’re finished with the upgrades it will be better for the animals and visitors.
