Day 01: Puerto Maldonado – Amazon Lodge – Monkey Island – Night Activity
Monkey Island - We will pick you up from the bus station or Airport at Puerto Maldonado and will transfer you to our office, We will then drive you in our transport to the boat pier, here we will take you by boat to travel down the Madre de Dios river to arrive at our lodge, then a refreshing fruit juice drink in our lodge.
We will set you up in your room, a quick rest, after we will start our tour going to walk in the jungle where we will get the lush vegetation (Some trees are 500 years old), birds such as parrots, macaws, monkeys, snakes, and a variety of insects like butterflies. After our hiking the hunging bridge and the zip lines will awaits us. Return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, we visit the monkey island, here you will see a great diversity of monkeys such as Capuchin, Tamarins and Squirrel monkeys are frequent here, some of them comes closer to us to ask the food.
After this, we will return to the lodge for dinner and at night we will do a night walk to do some Caiman Spotting.
Day 02: Sandoval lake Full Day (Exploring)
Lago Sandoval - After breakfast, we will travel by boat to the control point of Tambopata, from here, we will be hiking to reach the sandoval lake for an hour and a half where on our way we will be crossing huge trees and a great variety of birds and even some monkeys.
Once at the Sandoval lake, we will have the opportunity to see multicolour flowers and variety of fauna such as Giant Otters, birds, coloured butterflies, turtles, black alligators, cranes, macaws, cranes, and a variety of fish, likewise we will spend a few hours canoeing on this beautiful Sandoval lake considered one of the huggest one into the whole reserve park.
After exploring the lake we will have lunch in a camp at the edge of the lake, optional you can take a refreshing dip in the lake because the weather is very hot.
At the end of all this amazing experience, we will return to the lodge at around 05:00 PM. and so enjoy our dinner.
Day 03: Fishing Activity – Familia Nativa
Lago Sandoval - After breakfast, we will go for a day walk into the jungle to explore the most we can, also we will get a small river where we will have the opportunity to carry out pirañas fishing and try to catch them the most we can, afterwards, we will come back to our lodge for having lunch time and time to take a nap.
After lunch, we will visit a native family from the indigenous communities, their farms to see their daily activities, learning their customs, traditions that have been maintained over time. Dinner and rest at our lodge.
Day 04: Parrots and Parakeets Clay Lick – Puerto Maldonado
Puerto Maldonado - On our fourth day of our Tour at Tambopata will begins early in the morning at 04:00 a.m.
We will be embarking on an hour and a half boat ride to see the Parrot and Parakeet’s clay lick, an unmissable sight in South America.
A boat ride from the lodge to the clay place, and along this trip you will be spotting some animals and birds on the riverbank, and once arriving here, we will aprecciate an espectacular demostration of dozens of this multicolour birds
After, we will return to the lodge for breakfast at around 07:00 am.
We will then saunter on the shores of the river and go for fishing. We will try to catch some piranhas and bring them to the lodge, where our chef will prepare a delicious lunch for us.
After lunch, we will checkout the lodge and take the motorboat back to Puerto Maldonado, and our transfer will pick us up from the boat pier and will drive us to the airport or bus terminal with a stop at our office.
