Great crew. Memorable experience. - Crew was excellent. Michael, nacho and victor on the rhino charger were friendly. We caught a marlin and a mahi mahi. Brought a 9 and 10 year old and it was a long day for them but the snacks, lunch and dolphins and 2 fish catches helped break up the day. They gave us a choice of quality or quantity for fish and we chose quality. It was a long boat ride out and back in but well worth it. Great day!

3/4 day trip in Feb. 2024 - Went on a 3/4 day trip in Feb. 2024. You get picked up in a panga from the beach and head to the boat. (no docks or marina in Tamarindo). Everything was ready and we headed out almost immediately. Our Captain Michael and his deckhands worked hard to put us on fish. We ran ~20miles south and put out a spread of 5 baits and 2 teasers. Caught 2 skipjack tuna right off the bat, then a nice sailfish! Were treated to a great homemade lunch, and right before it was time to head back, landed a 2nd sailfish. (Both released boat-side.) Great trip. The boat is roomy and above average for the area. I highly recommend.

Amazing Fishing Trip! - My wife and our son and his wife booked a 3/4 day fishing trip with Rhino Charger out of Tamarindo CR. The Captain and crew were very knowledgeable and friendly. We caught a Mahi Mahi which the crew cleaned and packaged for us to take back to our hotel to be cooked. We also caught two sailfish. Overall it was an amazing experience and would highly recommended to anyone looking for a great day of sport fishing. We will definitely book another trip with Rhino Charger on our next trip to Costa Rica.

Best charter/best crew of our lives! Victor's mom makes a phenomenal lunch! The trip of a lifetime!! - Booked an 8 hour trip and had to call it quits after 6 and half hours. We caught so many fish our hands couldn't take any more abuse. My wife had multiple blisters and my hands were cramping constantly while reeling. Next time I'm bringing gloves! And we are definitely coming back!! Hooked a sailfish within minutes of putting out lures but didn't get an official catch as it shook the hook. Second bite was the sailfish in pics. Crew said it was approximately 8' 90#. Fantastic 20 minute fight with multiple jumps. It's a GREAT video, and the wife handled it like a pro for her first ever sailfish. The Mahi took over for awhile when we found a tree floating in the middle of nowhere. Had a triple hookup on first pass and landed 2. Second pass landed 2 more. Couple more passes came up empty so we moved on. Found a pod of HUNDREDS of porpoises feeding, which was amazing to see. They changed the setup and we started smashing the yellowfin tunas. Kept 5 and played with many more. Don't underestimate a 20# yellowfin, they are a workout and those are the youngsters but the best eaters. Moved on in search of my first sailfish but it wasn't to be. Had several strikes but nothing took the hook. After an epic battle with a 45# super thick Mahi I tapped out. I'm not ashamed to say it...I got my butt kicked and was exhausted at that point. He went to the cooler and we headed for shore. Last thing you need to know about this charter is the food!! At about 10am, Victor sliced up a pineapple for snack to keep up our energy level. Then at noon, Victor popped out of the cabin with huge heaping plates of food for us and themselves. His mother makes food for all the 3/4 and full day charters. WOW can that woman cook!! We had chicken marinated in local salsa (barbeque), a potato/egg salad, local style mixed veggies. It was hands down the best meal of our vacation. I sent Victor home with a tip just for her it was THAT GOOD! Captain Maikel, Mates Victor and Nacho are the best crew we have ever had the pleasure of fishing with. We are serious about our fishing. We travel with a commercial grade vacuum packer and even it got a workout this trip. I did lots of research before I decided on this charter and I'm glad I did. We drove an hour and a half to go with them and it was time well spent.

Fishing day that got the entire family hooked! - This was my husband’s and my 4th deep sea fishing trip but our teenagers first. Also our first time fishing in CR. Each of our teens caught a sailfish! It was one of the best moments of our trip. They were immediately hooked on deep sea fishing after that. We caught a tuna. That was it for the day. And the down time was expected and just fine. We enjoyed drinks and a pineapple snack and watching the ocean. We saw two sea turtles and many dolphins. The provided lunch was delicious. The two first mates were wonderful. Patient and kind and really guided each teen through their catch. We highly recommend Rhino Charter. It’s a great value and a wonderful way to spend a day in beautiful CR!

This was our 25th wedding anniversary and it could not have been better. - While most of the boats went north and struggled captain Mike took us south and we did great. We caught several large Mahi and several large yellowfin’s and one very big sail. We saw a giant school of spinner dolphin, a large turtle, and Orcas right beside the boat. My wife had an amazing time, which makes life good for me, we had an unexpected lunch from victors mom(very delicious). We were so comfortable lots of drinks andgreat conversation with nacho. I gathering friends and we’re coming back.

Great charter, would go again if near Tamarindo! - The captain and crew were amazing. Shortly after getting off the coast we were greeted by dolphins and birds leading to several tuna, a blue marlin, and a mahi mahi. Overall a great day, they were respectful and very helpful in landing the marlin that took nearly an hour. Great experience!

Tamarindo Fishing - Fishing was a little slow. We trolled for bill fish most of the time. Then the crew changed it up to get us on some little tunas. We had a blast, the captain & crew were awesome.
