Southside tour - My brother-in-law and I were originally booked on the early morning Grand Denali tour with glacier landing. That tour was cancelled due to the weather, so we were rebooked for later that day. The weather also caused that tour to be cancelled, but we were offered the Southside tour with glacier landing while being cautioned that the chance of landing was low. Although we were disappointed, we accepted the offer. Were we ever happy we did! Although clouds prevented us from seeing Denali, the views we did see were amazing. Before boarding, our pilot (Asa) asked if anyone wanted to sit in the co-pilot’s seat, and I got lucky - so my view was especially incredible. We travelled up Ruth Glacier, and down Tokositna Glacier, and Asa turned the airplane so that everyone could see the sights regardless of the side they were sitting on. We were unable to make a glacier landing, but in the end it didn’t matter - both of us were very happy with the tour we received. Also, we received a refund for the difference between the cost of the original tour and the tour we took immediately. Highly recommended!

Up close and personal experience! - Absolutely the best part of our trip to Alaska. The pilot took us up close to Denali. Make sure you reserve the package with the glacier landing. The extra money is well worth it. This outfit is first class and highly recommended.

Surpassed my High (pun intended!) Expectations! - Words can't even begin to describe this experience of a lifetime! I had high expectations and they were surpassed! Our family of 9 felt very safe the whole time... except for the moments when we were so close to the mountains that we thought for sure that the pilot wasn't looking... but nope... we were supposed to be that close! We lucked out on a beautiful, sunny day, so we got to see so much. The pilot was great about pointing out different things about the mountains and ice fields and plains and trees and glaciers and water and even the residence ON the mountain range! It was gorgeous! I typically get motion-sickness so I took a dramamine before the ride and I did fine. It wasn't bumpy or anything - very smooth ride!

Denali flight and glacier landing - Talkeetna Air Taxi provided an epic experience flying to Denali and landing in the Ruth glacier. Lifetime experience!!!

Breathtaking experience with an awesome pilot - This was our first Alaska trip and the last adventure we had booked at the last minute. What an experience! Nothing even comes close. Talkeetna Air Taxi was the most professional company. Everything was easy to do from the simple website, to the clear instructions on what to bring and, most importantly, the focus on safety. We did the Southside explorer with Glacier landing. The best choice ever as the North side was all smoked out and we were told you could maybe view the top of the mountain at some angle. Our pilot, Melissa was so much fun and she went into enormous details about each mountain and the glacier and a lot of fun facts. She even allowed my son to sit with her next to the pilot's seat. He was simply blown away by the experience. The landing, which I was a little wary of, was smooth as butter. And what a view when you get out. The mighty Denali just right there in front of you looking regal glistening in the sun. We got a lot of time hanging around the glacial amphitheater admiring the pools of blue water and even tried to build a snowman. This is the best company you can choose for the Denali view and landing. The return was perfect too and everything was done so well.

Great Pilot Narration - Our pilot was very informative and we learned many new things about the glaciers and history of the area.

Great experience - This place is clean and professionally run. The plane was nearly new and very nice. The headphones worked well and the pilot was very experienced; I felt very comfortable flying with him. Not sure why we needed to get there 45 minutes early, but it wasn't really a problem; I just hate getting up early. Unfortunately Denali's peak was hiding in clouds, but we got to see base camp which was busy that day.

Glorious Glacier Flight - Skilled pilot, gorgeous views, felt very safe! From the front desk personnel to the pilot, very courteous and knowledgeable! Would highly recommend!

Viator’s description of this flight is misleading! - Viator over sold this flightseeing trip. Go directly through Talkeetna Air Taxi and book one of their longer flights… this is the shortest flight time and lowest elevation flight and does not include a glacier landing even though the description states that you could purchase an upgrade to do so. After I booked the flight there was no upgrade available. The folks at Talkeetna Air Taxi were wonderful and they informed me that they are not responsible for the Viator advertisement. Viator should make it clear that the “Southern” route is the shortest flight offered and that unless you purchase a flight that specifically includes landing on a glacier, there is no availability for an upgrade.
