Your tour begins with a leisurely drive through the reserve, accompanied by one of the experienced game rangers. Keep your eyes peeled for the rhino - as well as other exciting species such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and numerous antelope species.
As you explore the diverse landscape, your guide will share fascinating insights into the reserve’s history, ecology, and wildlife conservation efforts.

Natal Lion Park - From Tala Game Reserve we head to Natal Lion Park for a short but very interesting game drive. Here we see elephants and lions. There is also a huge species of birds. Not to mention the very thick bush with all the indigenous trees.

Howick Falls - From Natal Lion Park we go further past Petermaritzburg to Howick. First we visit the Howick Falls which is a 95 metre waterfall. This is a beautiful sight indeed.

Nelson Mandela Capture Site - From Howick Falls we drive 15 minutes further to Nelson Mandela Capture Site. Here we visit the museum and the world renowned Nelson Mandela monument.

Nelson Mandela was arrested on 5 August 1962 outside Howick,
Natal, South Africa. He spent the next 27 years of his life in prison.

The Nelson Mandela Capture Site commemorates this moment in history with a visitor centre and a world renowned sculpture.

Underberg - From Nelson Mandela Capture Site we depart and head off to Underberg for the night. Right at the foot of the majestic mountains of the southern Drakensberg, Underberg is a little town that exudes a lot of charm. In fact, it has the kind of ethereal beauty that can only come from looming mountains, lush greenery, and the endless blue of African skies. This part of KwaZulu-Natal is supremely tranquil, but also offers so much in the way of trails and outdoors adventures.

Sani Pass - After breakfast jump into a 4x4 ready to go on the Sani Pass. The Sani Pass is a 33km gravel road that straddles the sheer cliffs of the Drakensberg escarpment in a series of tight Zig Zag curves. The route begins at the Sani Pass Hotel which is 1566m above sea level. You will be travelling in a 4×4 vehicle upwards along the narrow road crossing the South African / Lesotho border post which is 1968m above sea level. On route the landscape of KwaZulu-Natal opens-up displaying spectacular views of rolling hills and vast skies.
