At Maikoya, you can dress up and participate in the ceremony within an authentic tea room, all without leaving our facility. We are the only venue in Tokyo that accommodates groups of any size for various cultural activities, including the tea ceremony, in a traditional setting.
If you arrive late for your appointment, you can still wear a kimono after the tea ceremony, but please be prepared for a possible wait.

Loved it - I went on a solo trip and decided to try this place out I was late because of my plane and they help me through it all they booked me for the next class the people were amazing dress and hair style was great and making tea and learning about them was great highly recommended

Must do experience when in Japan! - This was a really enjoyable experience. We learned so much about the Japanese tea ceremony process including its history and how it is prepared. It was fun to choose from the various kimonos and hair styling options. Our instructor was very sweet and informative. This was my favorite experience during my trip to Japan!

Team ceremony experience was 10/10 - Our tea ceremony was so peaceful and the customer service was amazing. I’m so grateful that I got to experience this ceremony with my loved ones, they were so accommodating!

Amazing experience of the culture! - It was absolutely amazing! All the staff is so sweet and so kind. The best part is getting to dress in traditional kimono and learning the sacred tea ceremony rituals and respecting the culture! Definitely a must in Tokyo! So happy we did it thank you!!!

Japanese style - Very nice experience, I recommend it.
Tea ceremony is interesting, and the master of tea provide us many details not only about tea but also about Japanese culture.
I and my family were kimonos, we can choose them and the staff helped us with a typical hairstyle.
Then we can walk on the old town with our kimono and take fun photos!
