The way to go to Asakusa - the most with the best! - My wife and I spent a wonderful four hours with Taka as he revealed to us, in so much depth, the history, architecture, religious practices and local folklore of the area of Asakusa. He used his abilities to gain access to several places where tourists would normally not have been allowed. Always showing respect for the location, its past and current religious significance, he brought everything to life for us with his comments, taking us to many locations that could easily be overlooked if he had been less interested in offering us a complete experience. Both my wife and I have advanced educations and we were impressed by his knowledge such that there was no question we asked that he could not answer to our satisfaction. He managed all with skill and enthusiasm. He initially asked us about our particular interests in Japan, and in Asakusa on this occasion. Having learned of our attractions to learning details about history, architecture, matters of religious and folk practices and for music, theatre, folk art and crafts, he focused our tour on ensuring that we would be rewarded through instruction, conversation and a focus on the touring details.

Asakusa in- depth half day tour - Akiko was very knowledgeable, friendly and fun! She encouraged and provided several options for Japanese sweet snacks during our tour. Having headsets did help as it was often crowded. Really enjoyed the tour - I would book again!!!

A very good tour - Very well done despite the rain. Informative and just slightly too long. Guide was very good! He did not push anyone to buy things at the chosen food sites.

Not for travelers who had visited other temples - This walking tour was not quite what I expected. It was very slow going. Our guide repeated herself several times. Sometimes her English was difficult to understand. She was a nice lady, though, and knew her history. We left early.

Disappointing, lack of historical information - Unfortunately it rained all day, at times torrential so very soggy tour! Our guide was lovely but her English was not as good as required. The tour was promoted as an historical tour but we learned little of the history of Japan, just info about the shrines etc which was written by them anyway. Very disappointing

Inexperienced tour guide leads to disappointment - We were very disappointed in this tour unfortunately. The guide could hardly speak English and gave us very little historical and cultural background on the items we saw. He is simply not ready to be a tour guide. We have taken tours around the world and this one was the worst one ever, I’m sorry to say.
