A great tour to hear about surf legends, wipeouts and the wave - As the last adventure of our honeymoon, this trip was amazing. It ended up being a private tour because the other couple cancelled. As a local from the district next to Teahupoo, our guide knew the history of the surf spot from famous surfers to the science behind the waves. He also had surfing experience and had tales of waves being surfed, wipeouts and everything in between. We were amazed to be able to see the notorious surf sport prior to the 2024 Olympics. Highly recommend this tour!

No wave. Still a great experience. - We had a great tour. Even though there were no waves in December, we learned a lot about the surf and break. Our guide (I wish I could remember his name!) was super. Very knowledgeable and a great host. We learned a lot that we will keep in mind when watching any surfing video from Teahupoo. Plus he gave us a great tip about a swelling coming on the north shore! We never would have gone up there, and it was great advice.

To redo - Great experience, the wave was unfortunately not there, we still decided to enjoy the trip. We were able to see a whale and the captain was able to share his passion for the ocean with us. We are really not disappointed.

Unreal experience - Such an unreal experience. I don’t even surf and I was amazed. My husband who does surf was also amazed. Felt like we were behind the scenes as a huge surf contest or even the Olympics! The owner is soooo incredible knowledgeable and super nice. Would 100% recommend this to anyone.

Awesome Day with Teahupoo Adventure Tours and Surf - An Unforgettable experience. The Skipper positioned us in the front row with only the competition boats inside us. We did two trips on consecutive days to watch unbelievable surfing. We were that close we might as well have been on the waves. The boat is ‘as new’ with a viewing platform on top, the perfect set up! The staff were so friendly and obliging. I cannot recommend this company highly enough - ten out of ten. Thank you guys for an amazing and memorable experience.

The great wave - On the Tahiti-iti peninsula, the location chosen for the 2024 Olympic Games for surfing. Not much interest except for surfers

Teahupoo wave watching excursion in Tahiti: no clear instructions where to meet the tour operator - We booked via manawa.com. The confirmation email stated that we had to meet at Taiarapo-Ouest. No other information about where to go. We emailed the tour guide the night before to enquire exactly where to go but no response. My wife and I went anyway and turned up at 4 pm at Taiarapo-Ouest car park for our Teuhupoo wave watching excursion and nobody turned up. There was no one to ask what was happening, so we left after waiting half an hour. As we did not have wifi we could not call anyone at that point and had no way to communicate with anyone. We emailed the local tour operator again after reaching our hotel and received a reply that because we failed to turn up at the marina we were a “no show” and would not be receiving a refund. There was no mention of a marina on our confirmation email. In fact it was completely unclear where to go. We explained this to Teahupoo adventure tours and manawa.com showing exactly what information we received and not received but after a lot of to and froing with both companies they told us that essentially because other customers did know where to go it did not matter what information we were given or not given, we were a “ no show”, so no refund I am sure this would have been a great excursion, but my advice would be not to book with manawa.com and to make contact well in advance with the local operator to receive clear instructions where to go. The area is truely spectacular and I would recommend visiting the area.
