Awesome private tour with Matt. 10/10 would book again! - I did a private tour with Matt Fletcher through Kirstenbosch Garden, up Skeleton Gorge and on to Table Mountain, going down the cable car. It was wonderful! Matt is very knowledgeable about the flora and could answer all my questions. I’m a petite, solo female traveler and felt very safe. 10/10 would book again.

Great guide! Pray for decent weather. - Matt is an excellent guide! Unfortunately for my wife and I, the weather did not go our way: strong winds and significant runoff from recent rains. We got about halfway up elevationwise—to the top of the ladders—but had to turn back due to the winds and high water levels. Matt gave us a detour on a contour trail to a rockslide so we could get our steps in and a nice view. We then returned to the gardens, our starting point, where Matt gave us a nice tour and lunch at the restaurant there. If you like hot chocolate, theirs is excellent! He then drove us to the front of the mountain at the base cable car station. The winds were howling! The cable car was not running. Even on a nice day, this is a very strenuous hike. If we made it all the way, it would have been over six miles to the top—the first part that we did accomplish was a relentless climb. If the cable car is not running, it’s a little under two miles down.

Matt - a lunch wizard - For us it was very useful to do the hike guided as there are several possibilities to hike up and part of our route included hiking up a waterfall. Matt was very well prepared for the hike including water and snacks for everyone - and even magically made a lunch out of his bag appear that we enjoyed at the best view spot of the hike (cheese, crackers, strawberries etc). Also Matt shared a lot of interesting insights about flora and fauna but also let us enjoy the hike in silence when necessary.

Table mountain summit - Matthew was absolutely amazing. From the beginning we made some changes to the plan and he was willing to go with the flow and help us best figure out what would work for our party. Throughout the hike he was not only knowledgeable but so very kind and encouraging. No matter how many breaks I needed or how many times I stopped he was always patient and I hope to do more guided hikes and biking trips with him in the future.

One of the best ways to experience Table Mountain - ONE OF THE BEXT EXPERIENCE FROM OUR WHOLE TRIP. My Husband and I booked a private tour with matt and he was just the best person to do this with. We wanted to do more than just go to the top of the mountain and look, we wanted something a little less touristy and traditional. This is exactly what we got! :) Out tour started with a walk trough the the Kirstenbosch Garden, then on to the the base of Table Mountain to start our hike. It was incredibly scenic and Matt is VERY knowledgeable about the mountain, surrounding areas and and history, Just a great guide and company during the total of 4-5 hours we spent together. Out tour ended at the top of the mountain at the lookout point, got a bite to eat and a beer to refuel before headed back down on the train, and dropped off at our hotel. I cant recommend this tour enough!!
