Great to see Ortigia from the water and learn about its history - the day we went the sea was a bit rough with 1-2 metre swells so we couldn’t get close to the sea caves as it was too dangerous. We explored both sides of the harbour and stopped for a swim near the fortress which was lovely. The views from the boat were great and ducking our heads as the boat went under the low bridge was a great experience.

Fabulous - Great experience traversing the waves and exploring the caves. There were only 3 of us on the boat which was fabulous and our guide Lucia (hope I got that right) spoke fabulous English and took the time to explain and answer questions. Captain Carmello was brilliant knew the sea and his boat inside and out. Happy to recommend this tour.

Ortigia Pleasant Boat Tour Small Group - Ninni gave us an enjoyable 2 hour boat tour with 2 swim stops. The boat holds approx 8 people . Bring towel, water and a snack if you like.( we stopped at the food market for some fresh baggets , fruit and cheese) There are a few boat drivers but Ninni is passionate, philosophical , numerous with very good explanation of the history behind Ortigia and Syracusa plus we got to see the sea caves etc . The boat has a canopy .Two hours went by quickly. Enjoy !

Perfect boat trip - This was an excellent trip. There are so many boat trips to choose from in Ortigia but I was very impressed with this one. It was two hours long. The driver was very friendly and very good with the two elderly parents we had with us. He took us to two lovely swimming spots, showed us the sea caves and then took us to see the fort. Although they take a maximum of 15-20 people there were only 7 of us so we had a very personal experience. Highly recommend.

Great Trip, Use Caution at Swim Stops - Great Trip, great scenery. Only reason we didn’t give 5 stars is very important. If you have young children, I wouldn’t allow them to swim during the stops to snorkel/swim. The reason I say this is the guide that drove the boat on our trip dropped us to swim and then pulled away +/- 20 meters with the boat. We didn’t expect this nor does he tell you in advance that he’s pulling away. When I asked why he pulls away he suggested the current. Ok, so it’s not safe for your boat in the current so you drive away 20 meters and expect us to swim to the boat against the current. He does not come to pick you up. In fact, there were 2 swim stops and at the first stop, after a swim and getting ready to board, he told us to not board because he had to circle again due to the current. I had to shout and tell him my 11 year daughter was getting on the boat at that moment because she was getting fatigued. I was wearing swim fins and was ok, my wife had trouble swimming to the boat again against the current and the guide didn’t seem to care. The guide was very stubborn and we didn’t like that. fyi, we are experienced boaters, belong to a boat club in Florida, and understand currents. Typically I would say either anchor or don’t drop people to swim. Not the right day.
