Additional Information

Swansea stands as the second largest city in Wales, carrying a rich and diverse history with it. The city, founded by the Normans, took its name from Norse roots. After enduring the Middle Ages, Swansea rose to prominence in the 1700s as the leading town in Wales, thanks to the flourishing copper trade. As the industrial revolution unfolded, it shaped the current landscape of Swansea, though the city had its share of struggles with the fall of heavy industry and the aftermath of World War 2. This two-hour tour takes you through the city’s transformation from the Viking era, the copper trade, the advent of railroads, to the time of renowned writer Dylan Thomas.

Great way to see the city - I had a great time walking around with Eugene. He was telling us many interesting stories and facts, also sharing his knowledge of Welsh language. As it was during Easter I was lucky to be able to participate in a dark tour where he covered stories about prison, pirates, witched and haunted pub where later I went for a pint;) Definitely can recommend this tour anyone interested in discovering Cardiff and its stories.

Swansea - The Celtic Capital of Wales - Excellent tour - Really shows how Swansea was the most crucial area in all of Wales from the 17th - 20th century and one of the most industrially important regions in the whole of the UK. Also shows how Swansea was and still is the most culturally rich place in Wales.

A great few hours learning about Cardiff - Thoroughly enjoyed Eugene’s tour of Cardiff! Despite living a short drive away, my mother and I learnt a lot about Cardiff that we didn’t know. Eugene’s tour was packed with information, and he clearly knew the city well and answered all our questions. Will definitely be trying to catch one of his other tours soon. Thank you 😊
