Master of Nets Garden - Tongli Water Town
Tongli Town - Often referred to as the Venice of Asia, Tongli is one of the finest water villages in Suzhou, well-preserved with a history spanning a thousand years. While it shares historical and scenic similarities with Zhouzhuang, Tongli is less crowded and offers unique features worth exploring. The town is divided into seven islands connected by 15 canals, with most buildings situated along the waterfront. Small stairs leading to the canals facilitate residents in washing clothes and traveling by boat.

Lingering Garden - Shantang Street - Suzhou Grand Canal Tour - Panmen Gate
The Lingering Garden - Initially constructed in 1593 during the Ming Dynasty as the private residence of Xu Taishi, a Ming court bureaucrat, the Lingering Garden now reflects Qing Dynasty style. With over 400 years of history, it has changed ownership several times, with each owner enhancing its beauty. Known for its exquisite architectural art, the garden features fine gardening, a luxurious and spacious hall, and a collection of stones from Taihu Lake. It is generally divided into four parts: central, eastern, western, and northern, based on the architectural style.
Shantang Street - Also known as Seven Mile Shantang, this ancient riverside pedestrian road is a favorite among tourists. Although only about 360 meters long, it is dubbed the “miniature of old Suzhou” and the “window of Jiangsu culture.” Historically, it was a commercial hub where merchants traded and communities held folk activities.
Suzhou Ancient Grand Canal - Experience Suzhou by waterway in the afternoon after lunch. Enjoy a relaxing 30-minute Grand Canal tour, one of the three greatest projects in ancient China. Along the journey, you will see Suzhou’s ancient city gates, over 20 stone bridges in various traditional styles, ancient river town dwellings, and historical relics.
Panmen Gate - Conclude the tour at Panmen Gate, the oldest city gate in Suzhou and the only existing water and land gate in China. Located at the southwest corner of the Main Canal Suzhou, it was originally built during the Warring States Period in the state of Wu, estimated to be around 2,500 years old. The gate comprises two water passages, three land passages, and an outer gate. The canal outside the gate is the oldest section of the Grand Canal, also constructed 2,500 years ago. Nearby, there is the 1,000-year-old Ruiguang Pagoda, the earliest pagoda in Suzhou, and the Wu Bridge, the entrance to the gate at that time over the water passage and the highest bridge in Suzhou at that time.
