During the hike, you’ll encounter numerous watchtowers and barrier towers, observing the contrast between the renovated and wild sections. You’ll also catch a distant view of the Simatai Great Wall section. The walk starts at the East Five-Eye Tower and continues up to the ruined towers, with a moderate difficulty level. Along the route, you’ll pass several notable towers: Black Tower, Lesser Jinshan Tower, and Big Jinshan Tower.

Greatwall and Water Town Experience - Justin (our guide) and our driver were both kind and friendly. The travel between this section of the great wall felt short as our guide exchanged talks and stories with us in a clean and comfortable ride. Helpful and informative, and was always allowing us to have our moments with the surroundings in silence. Great trip overall.

Magical day at the Great Wall. - The most remarkable day in Jenshaling! I had the very best time with Edward. He was courteous and double-checked my hotel location before our tour - and provided tips to make the day perfect. He suggested good and warm clothes ( it’s winter ) and water ( it’s very remote so absolutely plan ahead ). He picked me up promptly and gave me a good history lesson the ride out to the entry point. I even got a nap in the car! ( he’s such a smooth driver). Everything was easy for the ticket purchase and the entry. We got to the park and had the place to ourselves! I didn’t see a tourist for 60 minutes. Edward suggested a path for us to see both sides of the entry point to see different views. He gave history lessons and also walked along at my pace so I could soak it in and experience it. I never felt rushed. Edward made sure that it was my experience and that I enjoyed it.
I cannot recommend Edward enough! He is fantastic.
This location is also so special. If you can make the 2.5 hours out of the center of Beijing - the sights are stunning.

Greatest Great Wall tour - My fiance and I did the Jingshaling Great Wall walk with Edward today and we had one of the best travel experiences of our lives! From pick up to the travel, to the experience Edward had, and the peace he put us at, was 5/5. Some guides can talk too much, or not enough, but Edward was the perfect mix, he also took some of our favourite travel shots we now can keep forever (that we are so grateful for). I can't recommend the tour company (or Edward!) enough.

Bright sunshine during the day trip to the wall at Jingshanling. Great service with plenty of insight and views. Beeind - It was impressive. The Great Wall at Jingshanling offers incredible views and was not crowded at all in December 2025 despite bright sunshine.
Edward was our guide for a small group of 3 people. We had a lot of fun. He also drove us safely to and from Beijing (about 2.5h each) and gave us an incredible amount of insights into the story. Perfect English. He ran with us about 3 to 4 hours the partly renovated, partly original sections of the wall. It was impressive from start to finish.
Simply recommended throughout! So put hiking boots on, plug in camera and off.

SUCH AN AMAZING WALK! - Highly suggested! Our guide (Adam) gave us a real history lesson about the Great Wall while walking on it! you can choose 3 loop paths on the wall (1 h, 2h and 3 h).
If you decide to for the long one make sure you can handle to make a lot of stairs!
But it was worth of it!

Great ecperience - I will remember the day I spent on this tour for the rest of my life! This section of the wall was breathtaking, we had incredible views and made great memories of this wonder of the modern world. Our tour guide, Adam, was very nice and knowledgeable about the history of China. Also pick up and dorp off the the hotel was very comfortable too. The driver was very nice too. Highly recommended.

Great - Really helpful driver and amazing views,we booked the jingshanling self guided tour, long distance from Beijing but worthy if you want to see the great wall without people. I would definitely choose them again.

Edward is the best! Peaceful day at Jinshanling! - EDWARD was amazing!!! He contact me two days before the pickup, let us know what time he would be there and communicated all of the details. He picked us up at the hotel, gave us so much history of the wall while on the drive to the Great Wall, and offered plenty of bathroom breaks if we needed.
Once we got to The Wall, we started our ascent. We had SUCH a great time with him and learned so much. We would have been lost without him. The entire day was smooth. Had a great lunch at a local farmers place after the hike and then started the drive back into town.
I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants a peaceful day at The Great Wall!

Beijing and Great Wall surprising - We did three days in private, with James as our guide. Two days in Beijing and one the Great Wall. We were delighted with on tour, considering that it coincided with the Golden Week of China, we managed to dodge most of the agglomerations with very good planning. The places chosen to eat have also been to our liking, we have tried typical dishes in local restaurants which is exactly what we like to do when we visit a new place. Thank you James for guiding us so professionally, and please convey our thanks to our driver, I don't remember his name, for taking us lockers and insurance throughout the tour. I highly recommend this company to prepare your vacation, when others told me to change my dates because they coincided with Golden Week, here they gave me options and have got us to enjoy it every day.
