Additional Information

The day’s itinerary begins at 08.00am with a pick up from your hotel and a drive around Chaingmai’s old city area. We’ll visit Wat Doi Suthep, a noteworthy landmark and one of the most revered temples in northern Thailand. This temple is an exquisite representation of the northern Thai architectural style. A staircase lined with naga (serpents) leads up to the temple, a 306-step climb designed to earn the climbers Buddhist merit. The temple was founded in 1383 by King Keu Naone to house a piece of the Lord Buddha’s shoulder bone.

From there, we’ll proceed to Wat Palad, a secluded jungle temple. Jungle temples, unlike their urban counterparts, serve primarily as tranquil retreats for monks to reside and meditate. Ancient stone structures, elaborate carvings and sculptures, as well as several serene places for mediation, make Wat Pha Lat a treasured find in Chiang Mai.
