Amazing - Ifa was awesome! - We took a tour with Ifa yesterday and she was absolutely amazing! Her knowledge, passion, friendliness, personality and kindness was 10/10. She was clearly an expert at all the places we visited and despite it being a busy day to visit the volcano, she still managed to find a fantastic viewing spot. She went above and beyond by also helping us with other recommendations while staying in Surabaya. A true asset to the team she works for.

Mt Bromo/Madakaripura waterfall - The guide, who was named Rizki, made sure we arrived early at Bromo and had one of the best viewing locations. The jeep was parked in an optimal location that allowed us to depart quickly rather being stuck and waiting for traffic to clear out. As a result, we soon visited the crater and were hiking out as a greater number of people were hiking up to the crater.

Top tour to attend! - We got picked up at our hotel and everything went very smoothly. Got to Mount Bromo on time for the sunrise and our guide Qowim took us to the best spot and told us lot of interesting facts about the area. Afterwards we continued to the crater and then nice buffet breakfast. To top it all off, we went to the waterfalls which were unreal, super gorgeous (your shoes will get wet so chopse wisely).
Top service and top guide!

An adventure that is well worth the effort - The 14-hour round trip begins at midnight and is an adventure in itself. It involves long drives, multiple modes of transportation (car, jeep, and motorcycle, or even horseback if you choose to ascend Bromo that way), and a dramatic shift in weather conditions. You'll need to dress for the cold (~8°C) while waiting for sunrise, prepare for the midday heat (~30°C) while hiking to the waterfall, and, if you're traveling during the wet season (February–May), be ready for occasional tropical rain—a raincoat is essential unless you don’t mind getting completely drenched.
Yet, despite all these challenges, this was one of our favorite day trips in Java, and we highly recommend it.
Our guide, Pak Nadal, and driver, Pak Ricky, were punctual, patient, polite, and highly professional. The sunrise over Bromo was breathtaking, even though clouds obscured the soft blue sky that would have made it even more spectacular. The gaping crater of Mount Bromo was an awe-inspiring sight—its roaring sound and distinct sulfurous scent made the experience even more immersive.
And finally, Madakaripura Waterfalls were simply stunning—an unbelievable natural wonder.
Thank you, IDN Trip, for a fantastic tour of Bromo and Madakaripura. We loved every moment of it!

Incredible Bromo Sunrise Tour with Nadal and a Fantastic Crew - We had the most amazing experience on the Bromo Adventure Tour, and our guide Nadal really made the trip unforgettable! He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every moment. He shared so much interesting information about the area.
The car and jeep drivers were also fantastic, even though we can’t remember their names. They were pros at navigating the tricky terrain, and we always felt safe and comfortable with them. The whole team worked together seamlessly, and you could tell they were really dedicated to making sure everything went smoothly.
From start to finish, the tour was perfectly organized, and the sunrise at Mount Bromo was absolutely breathtaking – a memory we’ll cherish forever. If you’re planning to visit Surabaya, this tour is a must-do, and I can’t recommend Nadal and the team enough!

Mt Bromo & Madakaripura Waterfall - This was a good tour which myself and my friend enjoyed. We were picked up from our hotel on time and our journey to the jeep pick up was smooth and comfortable. The journey in the jeep to the coffee/tea shack was comfortable too and we enjoyed the warming ginger tea as we waited. We had to wait here for a really time before walking up to the sunrise viewing point . . .about 90mins - 2hrs which was boring and cold but we appreciate the need to arrive early so as to get the jeep parked close by. I was glad that I had brought my hat and gloves to keep warm as it was quite cold and windy. The walk up to the sunrise viewing point was easy but unfortunately it was extremely foggy so we couldn't see anything. After this, our driver and guide brought us to various locations for views and photos of the mountain which we enjoyed. The walk up to the crater of Mt Bromo offered some absolutely stunning views and seeing the ash at the very top was very cool to experience also. The breakfast we got when we stopped off was ok . . .it was a buffet of Indonesian food which was grand but the tea and coffee tasted terrible.
Our last stop on the tour was the Madakaripura Waterfall which ended up being much different than what we expected. We were put onto motorbikes and provided with no helmet to wear. The park where the waterfall was seemed to be an old or abandoned park that used to be a tourist attraction which is no longer in use. We googled it when we got back and found out that it's actually closed as due to rainy season it is too slippy and dangerous for visitors. Despite wearing suitable footwear as advised, we found the walk to the waterfall very slippy. The waterfall itself was absolutely stunning though which thankfully meant at least the trek to it was worth it.
Overall, we enjoyed the scenery and were glad that we did the tour. Our guide Ifa was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive and we are very thankful for having her guide us.
