Best Tour Company in El Salvador - My mom and I had an amazing experience doing a private day tour from San Salvador to Suchitoto and Ilopango Lake. Our guides Jocelyn and Walton were absolutely amazing. They were very welcoming, kind, funny, and knowledgable about the areas we visited. The tour was about 8 hours long, and we were able to do a lot of sightseeing, eating, and activities at our own pace. After how great the tour was, we even booked a San Salvador walking tour for the next day. I'd definitely recommend this tour, especially with Jocelyn and Walton!

Great day out with excellent guide and driver - Very enjoyable day. Edwin picked us up for what turned out to be a private tour from our hotel. His English is excellent and we are soon deep in conversation about recent history of El Salvador, he has great knowledge of history and culture of the country. The lake trip was around an hour, lovely scenery and I finished that with a quick swim. Then another 45m drive to solcicito which is a charming town. After a walk around town and visiting a few places we were taken to a locals restaurant by the lake for a nice and good value meal.

Great day trip with an opportunity to learn and understand of the local's life - An El Salvador fun day adventure in Llopango Lake and Suchitoto, Joshy and our driver shared personal San Salvador experiences and let us observe the history and changes taken by their great nation. They ensure members enjoyed their trip and soaked in the culture and beauty. Bonus: When the local coffee soup was closed due to the holiday, Joshy took the opportunity for a quick turn and got us to enjoy coffee with a local family. Thanks for a fun day.

Can't wait to come back - I had an amazing time visiting Ilopango lake and Suchitoto town with Jocelyn and Miguel. Boat ride was super relaxing, while watching amazing views and the water is super comfort for those who would like to swim. Suchitoto is such a nice, cozy place with cobblestones, local markets and charming atmosphere only small Latin towns have. Jocelyn and Miguel are amazing, they went out of their way to please me and accommodate all my needs, while being very friendly and fun! Great experience and I can't wait to revisit those places and stay longer!

Great tours and guide! - I had such a great experience with EC El Salvador from beginning to end, I can't recommend them enough. Communication was excellent and I was well taken care of. Michelle was my outstanding guide for both tours, Suchitoto and San Salvador. I enjoyed exploring these areas with her and I saw and learned so much about the culture and history of these special places. Honestly, 10/10. Thanks so much to Edwin, Michelle, William and Walter! I will absolutely use them again on my next trip.

Wonderful experience! - I had such a wonderful trip to Suchitoto and Lago de Ilopango with guide Wilmen and driver Willian. I was the only traveler and they were so kind and patient with my requests and many questions. I feel like I made a couple friends! Highly recommend this tour, a great way to experience daily life in El Salvador along with some history and the beauty of the country.

Fantastic way to spend a day in El Salvador! - This was a fantastic tour! The guide, Wilman, was informative and very pleasant to spend the day with. Llopango Lake is breathtaking and the drive to and from Suchitoto is spectacular. Driving through El Salvador is like driving through the Garden of Eden. I highly recommend this tour, and making a pit stop at Casa de Abuela in Suchitoto for a delicious fresh coffee!

EC Tours sets the bar high - I had a great time on this tour with my mom! Walter and Melisa arrived to our hotel on time, and provided us with cold bottles of water. They wore matching EC Tours shirts, which made it feel professional. Walter was a courteous and safe driver, while Melisa provided lots of information about El Salvador’s history, food, nature, cultural identity, politics, etc. while in the car and at location. The boat ride on lake Ilopango was refreshing, beautiful, and informative. We ate delicious minutas while there. Suchitoto was lovely and Melisa had a ton of information about the town and the history of colonization in the country. Lunch at Casa 1800 was yummy, but the view from the patio was the highlight of the meal! All in all, 10/10 would recommend. For folks with curious minds that like to ask questions, learn, and talk - this is a great tour and Melisa was the PERFECT guide.

Lots of driving with little payoff - I rated this tour 2☆ for several reasons: 1. The cost of the activity per person is simply not worth what you see and experience to justify the price. 2. The boat ride at the Lake, while relaxing, is simply 30-minutes along the shore and around a small rock cropping (an island?). There isn't anything notable about this lake, or that would make you feel that you weren't at any plain ole lake anywhere in the world. This almost feels like a throw in activity to justify the price, since the visit to Suchitoto is "meh". 3. There isn't much to Suchitoto, to be honest. It's a small, quaint colonial town with typical touristy shops that you will see throughout most of E.S. The church is nice, but for the amount of time spent getting here and the cost, it's hard to justify spending $90+ person for this experience. 4. The highlight of the trip was eating at Casa 1800. The view is amazing, and the atmosphere is serene. If you are reading this review and considering this trip, I would recommend you do the Ruta de Las Flores trip they offer instead. You will see several colonial towns that are much more exciting and justify the cost. (Do that tour on the weekend when Nahuizalco is doing their outdoor market.) If you do the Ruta de Las Flores you can completely skip the Suchitoto tour, as there isn't anything on this tour that you haven't seen already. And the Lake trip is a big nothing burger. We were left EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this tour and felt like we wasted a day in E.S. that could have been spent elsewhere.
