• Jonkershoek Nature Reserve - Set off on an exciting journey through the enchanting Jonkershoek Nature Reserve to the breathtaking Waterfall with our Guided Hike experience.

The adventure starts at our trail center located opposite the Lanzerac Deli. From there, participants will enjoy a scenic ride and hike along well-marked trails.

As the group ventures further into the reserve’s core, a deep connection with nature will be felt. The itinerary concludes at either the First or Second Waterfall.

If weather or wet conditions prevent a visit to the Second Waterfall and participants are experienced hikers, an alternative route to a viewpoint offering a view of the waterfall will be taken.

Safety is our top priority throughout the excursion, and our knowledgeable guides will ensure a memorable and stress-free experience. Whether a beginner or an experienced adventurer, the guided hike to the Waterfall promises an unforgettable journey filled with exploration, discovery, and a connection to nature.

Gaining access to the trailhead can be difficult unless you are among the first 20 vehicles permitted, and a high-clearance vehicle is advised. We provide a 4x4 safari vehicle ride from Lanzerac Hotel into the reserve, directly to the trail’s starting point.

This service allows for more distance to be covered compared to walking to the trailhead, which would add an additional 10km of jeep track to your journey.

Our guide is a certified mountain walking and wilderness first responder, as well as a nature therapy guide.
