Highlights
  • One Garden Brighton - Enjoy wellness and nature in the scenic countryside behind Brighton. We will start the day with a feel-good yoga flow in One Garden, before heading into the surrounding woodlands to experience Shinrin-Yoku or forest bathing. One Garden is Brighton’s most beautiful garden, surrounded by the Southdowns Nationalpark, just a 15-minute drive from Brighton centre.

Yoga at One Garden
We will meet at 9:30 AM and start the day with yoga in a cosy studio or on the beautiful lawns. The studio is tucked away, with two bi-folded doors creating an inside-outside atmosphere. Also situated inside the tranquil garden walls is a restaurant, a food market, and a cafe.

Forest bathing?
The term shinrin-yoku means “taking in the forest atmosphere”. It is as simple as walking through nature and connecting with what’s around you. The practice is proven to reduce stress, improve memory and offer calm and peaceful clarity.

Weather
The weather is mostly fine, and the event is lovely, even with some light rain. The event can easily be adjusted to an indoor/outdoor event as the studio is surrounded by nature, a beautiful garden and the great woods.

During your four-hour excursion, you’ll explore secluded parts of the forest under the guidance of a professional instructor, absorbing the sights and sounds of the woodlands and open fields, followed by an introductory session of rejuvenating yoga flow and forest bathing. Relaxing autumn day out - Lovely day, fantastic host who adapted the session to accommodate individual guests abilities and interests. As someone who loves the forest environment I still found the experience brought a whole new insight into the landscape. I was Introduced to trees and some of their folklore and history that I found fascinating. Recommend to anyone who needs an invitation to unplug and tune into the healing qualities of time spent in nature!

Wonderful team well-being yoga and forest bathing experience! - We had a team well-being half day with Xenia last week. We are a small team of NHS professionals and Xenia kindly made us a bespoke package. We had a wonderful yoga session in amongst the trees which was a wonderful way to stretch and feel into my body whilst feeling held by nature. She also provided us with some lovely natural tea and flavours of the season. Then we walked to another woodland for some forest bathing exercises. These were both fun and immensely nurturing to just lie on a tree and focus on the surroundings. We all felt very connected by the end of the day and inspired to consider how to bring elements of the practice into our work. I loved Xenia's incredibly warm, calm and generous nature. I would highly recommend sessions with her and I look forward to doing more myself.

Serene outdoor enrichment - The forest bathing experience was delightful. The surroundings in an ancient woodland, full of bluebells was spectacular. It was a very relaxed activity and Xenia was very calm and informative. The yoga was lovely as were the foraged tea and jams she provided. There was a lot of walking but in such a gorgeous place it was fun to explore. Definitely recommend.

Relaxing day basking in nature - I received the yoga & forest bathing half day retreat as a present from my boyfriend and we really enjoyed it 😊 unfortunately it was raining, but we did the yoga class indoors and it was still great (and suitable for all levels). It was my first time trying Forest Bathing and it was super calming. We went for a walk, explored the woods for “hidden treasures” and did some Q-Gong Movements. We also tried tea made from some of the woodland flowers. Xenia ran the class and she had a very laid back attitude that made the experience a lot more enjoyable as I didn’t feel like I was rushed. She also provided waterproof trousers for those who didn’t bring them which was a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a calm, explorative day out to de-stress and spend some time in nature 😊

Beautiful! - Really good! Xenia lead the day beautifully and facilitated a very calming experience with her easy going way. I felt at ease and quickly felt immersed in the beautiful ancient woodland and able to let go and just be. I adored the outdoor yoga, with the trees soooo much. Would absolutely recommend :)

Wonderful retreat - Xenia was so lovely, everything about the retreat seemed really thought out and well planned. She created a really comfortable and zen atmosphere. Loved the apple orchard at the end, bought a few bottles of apple juice. My friend and I have a really lovely day. xoxox
