Additional Information

Your Eye Travel guide let you discover the secrets of the Cretan way of health & beauty.

Our first stop is at Agios Nikolaos which is famous for its picturesque ‘bottomless lake’. It’s time for your workshop, where we create high-quality organic & vegan cosmetics and fragrances inspired by Minoan recipes.

After your ‘worktime’ you will have some time to discover this pretty little town on your own, to stroll around the shops and have your lunch while watching the world go by.

We continue our way to an olive oil factory where we are welcomed by one of the owners. She/he guides us through the factory and teach us all about the olive oil process. After the olive oil factory, you have your olive oil tasting with professional explanation how to appreciate the ‘Gold of Crete’. After all this nowledge we head back to your hotel.

Experience local Crete- so fun - Such a great day. Tour guide took us pretty much anywhere we wanted to go, including off roading and a cave. The cooking experience was unforgettable. The restaurant owners treated us so kindly and the food was delicious. Felt like we really experienced local Crete.

Great Day out. - The whole day was a great experience, the shepherd/chef/winemaker/gardener/cheese maker George was great fun full of interesting cooking tips. The driver could have given a little talk on the way just to inform where we were.

Local life, wine tour and Spinalonga - We used eye travel for 3 tours. All were fantastic, the guides Sophie for the wine tour and Spinalonga and Jessica for local life were knowledgeable, good drivers and good company. The vehicles were comfortable with aircon. Our favourite day was the local life... I would recommend all of the tours though as Crete is auch a beautiful island. We will be back. Thank you

Brilliant day - We had great service from the moment we met Roger in the Eye Travel office! Top man, friendly informative and great fun. We left 8.30 on the day of the trip and Roger was our guide. We went to see a local olive factory and then on a scenic drive to a tiny village. The village was so beautiful! We went up the mountain in the back of a pick up so wear shorts or trousers as it’s a bit of a challenge to get in the back, but fun! Local man George took us to see his many goats and the noise of the bells as they ran to meet him was lovely! Cookery lessons in George’s authentic kitchen followed and we then ate the meal we all made with local wine and Raki. Roger was friendly, informative and fun! It was a small group of six so you soon get to know each other. It was a great day if you want to meet real Cretan people and experience a slice of their lives. Full marks Eye Travel!

Fantastic local experience for all the family - We took this trip mid August with guides Vasilis and Francesca. Although we were on a small mini bus with another family, we were joined by a second bus so were a group of around 15. First stop was the Olive oil factory and this was a very disappointing start. The factory was not in action so we basically sat listening to a talk for ten minutes and looking at photos, this part of the trip is the only reason I haven't given five stars as the rest of the trip was brilliant! After a lovely drive up the mountain in the minibus, we stopped at the village (Karouzano - I think) and were immediately met by Yiorgos who took us in the back of his pick up truck up a mountain track to see the goats - the ride up and down in the truck was a squeeze but great fun. The goats at the top seemed happy to see Yiorgos and we had the chance to feed the goats then milk them! Our young son found the whole experience really interesting and he enjoyed making friends' with one particular goat who seemed to take a shine to him and kept nudging him for food. My husband informed me that milking a goat is harder than it looks after trying for himself!! We then travelled back in the truck to Yiorgos' taverna and thoroughly enjoyed a walk through the village and a look at his garden before taking part in our cooking lesson. I loved that everybody was encouraged to take part so the competed lunch was truly a group effort! I would recommend this trip, although it's a bit more expensive than some trips available in this area of Crete it was worth every penny and a true traditional experience which we will never forget. Thank you to our guides and of course, Yiorgos for this fantastic day!
