Sailing into Adventure: A Family Day on the Gulf with Tierra Verde Beach Tour
When I heard about the Tierra Verde Beach Tour, I knew it was the perfect opportunity for a family adventure. With promises of exploring historic sites and pristine beaches, I couldn’t wait to see what the day had in store for us.
Setting Sail with St. Pete Beach Eco Tours
As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for activities that promise both adventure and relaxation, and the Tierra Verde Beach Tour seemed like the perfect fit. Our day began with a warm welcome from Capt. Jeff and his trusty sidekick, Bubba. Their friendly demeanor instantly put us at ease, and I could tell this was going to be a memorable day on the water.
The Gulf waters sparkled under the morning sun as we set sail, and Capt. Jeff shared fascinating tidbits about the local marine life and history. My kids were captivated, and I was grateful for the educational aspect of the tour. We were given a choice of activities, and with so many options, it was hard to decide! But that’s the beauty of this tour – it’s flexible and tailored to your interests.
Exploring Fort De Soto and Shell Key
Our first stop was the historic Fort De Soto. The park is a natural wonderland, and we were eager to explore. The kids loved the freedom to roam and discover, while my husband and I took a moment to soak in the breathtaking views. We spent time lounging on the beach, and the kids couldn’t resist the call of the water, diving in for a swim.
Next, we headed to Shell Key Preserve, a pristine barrier island that felt like our own private paradise. The shelling opportunities were endless, and we found some beautiful sand dollars to take home as souvenirs. The kids were thrilled to find so many treasures, and it was a joy to watch them explore with such enthusiasm.
Fun and Games on the Water
Back on the boat, Capt. Jeff and Bubba had a few surprises up their sleeves. We played games, fished off the side of the boat, and even tried our hand at snorkeling. The water was clear and inviting, and we spotted a variety of colorful fish. It was a magical experience that left us all in awe.
The four hours flew by, and as we headed back to shore, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the memories we had made. This tour was the highlight of our trip, and I can see why so many families return year after year. If you’re looking for a day of fun, relaxation, and family bonding, the Tierra Verde Beach Tour is a must-do. Thanks to Capt. Jeff and Bubba, we’ll definitely be back for more adventures!
