Setting Sail on a Caribbean Dream

As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours riding the waves and exploring the hidden gems of the Caribbean. After our volcanic spa treatment, we headed to Momma’s house for a traditional St. Lucian lunch. Nestled on the slopes of the volcano, Momma’s home offered a feast of stewed chicken, salted salmon, rice, mac n cheese, potato pie, plantains, and assorted vegetables. The flavors were a delightful blend of local spices and fresh ingredients, a true taste of the island’s culinary heritage.

A Splash of Adventure

With our appetites satisfied, we made our way to the Toraille Waterfall. The cool, cascading waters provided a refreshing escape from the tropical heat. Johnny encouraged us to venture under the waterfall, capturing the exhilarating moment on camera. The chill of the water was invigorating, a stark contrast to the warmth of the day.

Our final stop was at Sugar Beach, where we donned our snorkeling gear and plunged into the crystal-clear waters at the base of the Petite Piton. The underwater world was teeming with vibrant marine life, from trumpet fish to parrot fish, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. As I floated above the coral reefs, I felt a deep connection to the ocean, a reminder of why I fell in love with the sea in the first place.

As the sun began to set, we reluctantly made our way back to the cruise port. Johnny and the crew kept the energy high with refreshments of water, beer, and rum punch, ensuring the day ended on a high note.
